Twenty four years ago, the door of Lynolan House opened to welcome guests visiting the North East of Ireland. Just a few kilometers in from the Irish Sea on the outskirts of Dundalk, the word of how good Lynolan House got around. Since then the house has evolved into what has become a more spacious and comfortable haven offering further facilities to ensure a really pleasant stay.

But of course none of this would have happened without the careful tending of Evelyn Carolan and her family. Extra soft white fluffy towels, bottled water, an ice making machine, a library; nothing is left to chance at Lynolan. They have even converted four bedrooms into two large family rooms ensuring the little ones are equally welcome. Quite the expert on golf, Evelyn is also very knowledgeable on any of the activities available in the area. Dundalk is home to a fantastic greyhound track and Ireland’s only all weather horse racing track, if you fancy a flutter. Try out the ice-skating; it may bring you down to earth with a bump!!! The walking is great, a hike on the Cooley peninsula or for those who prefer level ground, there’s three great shopping areas to cover!!
If Evelyn is not in the kitchen making jams & chutneys, she may be taking a sneaky peek at Sky TV in the living room. A great fan of sport, in particular Golf; Evelyn likes to keep up to date with the goings on in the Golf World so she can regale you with the latest developments. A keen golfer herself she is a member of the local Killen Park, just one of a number of golf clubs in the area. She can tell you all that you may need to know about each of them, or simply read through the chart with all the relevant information, right down to the cost of trolley hire. Eileen, again leaving nothing to chance, prefers the golfer to book directly with the preferred golf club, that way there will be no mix ups, but she is delighted to facilitate you by means of complimentary email and telephone use for this purpose. Having chosen your golf destination for the day, Eileen will provide snacks, fruit, bottled waters, pastries to guests for a nominal cost. On return at the end of the day, for guests staying more than 2 nights you can avail of the Sauna or Steam Shower at Lynolan to ease those aching muscles!! Before you head out to any of the 6 excellent pub/restaurants within a 3km radius, relax in the conservatory and watch some of the Golf DVD’s or the pre recorded highlights of recent golf tournaments or other sporting events. Otherwise, there’s nothing like a ‘post mortem’ of the day’s golf pursuits and no better person than Eileen to lend a sympathetic ear!!!
A stay at Lynolan House is a ‘fairway’ to have a holiday whilst ‘putting’ in a few good games of golf!!!
