Camillaun Lodge

Oughterard Connemara, Galway, H91DD28

1km from Oughterard

Meet your host…

Ms Deirdre Forde

Greg and Deirdre Forde have lived in Oughterard for 25 years. In 1991 they started a restaurant in the village and 3 years later started their angling lodge. After 7 years of restaurant life and the arrival of their son they decided to cut back. Greg has a senior position in Inland Fisheries Ireland and Deirdre teaches part time in the winter. Deirdre's sister Helen has been a willing helper at times. The picture is of the three of them after Helen's Master's graduation ceremony in 2011!

Nice welcome with directions for eating in town a short walk away. Clean and comfortable room and really good breakfast. Would stay here again when we return.

10 out of 10 in every way. Deirdre & Greg are very accommodating and helpful. The house is located in a beautiful peaceful location but within walking distance to the village. Breakfast was excellent too. Don't think about it, just book it! We will definitely be back!

This was our third stay here and as usual Greg and Deirdre made us feel most welcome. Very good breakfast that Deirdre makes to suit all tastes. Short walk along the river up into the town away from road traffic. If you are into fishing Greg is your man with boats for hire and marvellous advice.

In one word, Excellent. Only improvement would be to place a kettle and tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Greg & Deirdre were very welcoming. You will get an amazing breakfast. They went above and beyond for my sisters odd request and came through. Thank you very much for that. I wish we had longer to stay. It is a very nice little walk to the town. Excellent area. Close enough to Galway. Next time I look forward to trying the fishing. Marcy, Marlene and Tracy
