Charming working farm. Great food and room. Close to a great part of Ireland. We will stay here again if in this area or Ireland.

As part of our BB experience, we wanted to stay at a farm and we found a really nice one in Smithfield House. Kathleen met us in the driveway and escorted us to our room in the back. Wow This is a real farm with cows watch out for the bull the sign says, and chickens, and that magnificent 200 year-old house that has been in the family for 4 generations - soon to go into its 5th. The room was great, our host was quietly polite and efficient - not everyone can be bright and perky, and the atmosphere was perfect. We surely didnt want to eat in Adare - much too commercial- so Kathleen guided us to a local pub that was in the middle of nowhere. Best steak this side of Ennis, Montana with this phenomenal blue cheese sauce. Great ending to a great stay.
