County Kerry

Meet your host…

Margaret Moriarty

Gene and I have lived in Killarney all our lives, our families were also B&B hosts from the mid fifties. We rebuilt Beniska House in 2000 and have really enjoyed helping our guests from various countries enjoy all the scenery of Kerry over the past twelve years. While we are aware that our town is becoming more and more commercial, we cannot emphasise enough that there are acres and acres of unspoilt landscape which you can explore in peace and quiet.

County Kerry natives Gene and Margaret Moriarty built the luxurious Beniska House in 2000 and happily share their wealth of local knowledge with guests. A 4-star rated home with spacious bedrooms and a comfortable guest lounge, it’s superbly located for visits to the Dingle and Beara Peninsulas and the acclaimed Gap of Dunloe. Only 4km from the lively town of Killarney, guests can enjoy renowned pubs and restaurants and spend a day outdoors with Killarney Golf and Fishing Club nearby.

Simply delightful from the moment we arrived. We were warmly welcomed, shown the tea/coffee service, given recommendations for dinner. Our room was immaculate & the bathroom sparkled. Loved the taller than usual shower head & toiletries, especially the shower cap (that I forgot to pack). Breakfast was wonderful, the cheese tray was just over the top, and I finally learned the difference between real bacon & rashers. Gene provided a wonderful map of the Ring of Kerry and Margaret graciously wrapped a couple of scones for a mid morning snack. If God blesses us with another trip to Ireland we plan to return to Beniska House.

The accommodation was first rate, however the highlight was meeting Margaret and Gene. Their interest and concern that we enjoy Killarney and Ireland made us feel very welcome. As you might expect, breakfast was wonderful. Thank you Margaret and Gene.

Margaret and Gene were very attentive hosts and anticipated our every request. There were directions, maps and dinner suggestions ready for us everyday. Margaret called one of the tours we were to take and they picked us up at Beniska House. We were there four nights and had a marvelous time. Thank you Margaret and Gene!

The Beniska House was wonderful in so many ways. Gene and Margaret were outstanding hosts, and their advice on dining, sites and other matters was first rate. Their advice on being sure we saw ALL of the Dingle Peninsula gave us what was a real highlight of our tour of Ireland. Excellent accommodations and fine food!

Of the 3 B&B we stayed on our holiday to Ireland, this was the best! Margaret & Gene were so warm the minute we arrived. The living room was v inviting & the room clean, well decorated & spacious. The Irish breakfast was delicious & plentiful & we were v appreciative of them off serving us local seasonal fruits. On the 2nd morning we were also served fresh scones & biscuits - she even wrap a couple of them for us to take away & shared her recipe with another guest who was also having breakfast. Margaret & Gene were very informative, helpful & friendly. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting this area & we certainly will return if we visit Ireland again.
