In Kinnitty

Meet your host…

Christina Byrne

Hi I am Chris your host. I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing my home with guests from all over the world for many years. I love to cook. I bake Irish soda bread and scones daily as well as making preserves from the fruits of my garden. The Slieve Blooms and Lough Boora Parklands are excellent for walking and I know them very well as I get out there to explore the trails regularly.I play traditional Irish music on Wednesday nights in one of the local pubs and often take my guests along.

Christine at Ardmore \house was most welcoming. This was our first time ever at a B&B and she made us most welcome and is a warm host. Christine suggested Kinnitty Castle for dinner, just a very short drive, down the road and it was a great experience -not pricey. Breakfast was the full Irish and delicious. We were able to sit in the homey lounge at night and Christine put more peat logs on the fire. Rooms are very comfortable. Must be able to climb stairs.

A wonderful home and Christine is a gracious hostess! This was our last two nights in Ireland and we feel like we experienced a true Irish lodging experience. This home and hostess welcomes you with a warm, relaxed atmosphere and enjoying a cup of tea in front of the peat fireplace is delightful. Dining at that Kinnity Castle is a must!

My wife and I stayed at Ardmore House before heading back to Dublin Airport and our return to the US. We had just completed a 10 day drive of the north and west coast of Ireland and Ardmore House was a great place to unwind. Wonderful scenic location and a leisurely 2 hrs or less to Dublin for your "getaway day" drive. Accommodations very comfortable and wonderful breakfast. Christine was a great host and eager to give us advice as to what to do in the area. Highly recommend Ardmore House!

Christine is the perfect host. Her home is warm and inviting and she makes you feel right at home in her beautiful home. She gave us great suggestions for dinner and things to do. This was our favorite B&B in our 8 day trip. Enjoyed conversations with other guests. Do your self a favor and stay with Christine.

Host's Reply:

What a wonderful house. Great host and beautiful area. We just weren’t here long enough.

Host's Reply:
Thank you Dawn. Got lots to show you in this area next time you are here. Lough Boora Parklands with it's sculpture trail. The 9th century cross at Kinnitty Castle Slieve Bloom Mountains will have a mountain bike track in the next couple of months and then all the Castles- Haunted Leap, Birr Castle, Clononey Castle Athlone Castle, Charlivele Caastle Tullamore.
