The home is ideally situated for exploring the far north of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The hosts were extremely nice and welcoming. Breakfasts were wonderful with many fruits besides the prepared breakfasts. Our room had its own bathroom and shower. The only slight negative for us was the room was a bit small and cluttered.

Host's Reply:
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Mount Royd. I'm very glad you enjoyed your stay with us. To respond to your point about the room size: as you will know from your stay with us, our home is almost 100 years. It was built by the same man - over 4 years! - and was not purpose-built for b&b. We have stayed within the room dimensions where we can, whilst always including an en suite, two seats in each room, and I like to decorate the rooms in keeping with the time of its construction. Thank you again for your review, and it is great to hear such positive comments about your breakfast and how convenient our home is for exploring the north of Ireland. Josephine Martin

Wow! Mount Royd Country House is exactly what you're looking for! A great place to spend a night, a weekend, a week... something right out of a play or novel. Charlie and Josephine and family were the most gracious of hosts, from afternoon tea and scones waiting for us in the sitting room, an elegantly appointed bedroom, an equally elegant breakfast room, each table set with fine china, filled with absolutely delicious food. And just minutes to the beautiful and historically significant city of Derry. A must stay! Definitely hope to stay here again.

Host's Reply:

The picture does it no justice. Glad we picked such a beautiful location. Great host and it was so comfortable in our room. We got to see where our morning eggs would be coming from...and what a wonderful breakfast! Appreciate the warmth and charm of the home and host. Would stay again...without doubt.
