The B&B was well situated for visiting Wicklow Mountains. We were friendly received with coffee and tea. The breakfast was good and enough. Unfortunately was the room not as expected. The room was little with a little sink and a small double bed. En-suite was a very small space with a shower and a toilet. It was all a bit outdated.

Aine was a very welcoming host. Room was lovely and spacious, along with en-suite. Great location in lovely quiet area. We stayed for 2 nights. As we had a late lunch one day; we found ourselves a little hungry later in the evening. Aine kindly mades us a little snack so we wouldn’t have to venture out. Lovely home and host.

Carriglen is in a lovely and convenient location. The sitting room and breakfast area were very nice and Aine served us a very nice breakfast. The bathroom was new and lovely. However, the bedroom was quite cramped. No one was home when we arrived and we had to call Aine to say we were there, even though we arrived during the check-in window. Other people were attempting to check in at the same time. I would recommend having someone at the site for the entire check-in window. My main concern, though, was that Aine had a respiratory infection. She came to my room the first day to offer tea, which was nice of her, but I declined. She stood very close to me and chatted for a long time and commented that she has been unable to get rid of her infection. I wanted to get up from my seat and get a mask but felt rude doing that and kept thinking she was about to leave. By the end of the next day, I also had a very bad respiratory infection that caused me to stay in my hotel room for the entire last day of our trip (missing things that I had really been looking forward to doing in Dublin), made me miserable on my flight to the US, and sidelined me for a full week. While I can't be sure, I do strongly suspect that I caught it from Aine since this was one of the few times during my trip that I was not masked. I did not see Aine wearing a mask the entire time I was there. During that time, there were 4 rooms of guests and she was preparing and serving our breakfasts. Aine seemed like a nice host but I think she should definitely have worn a mask when hosting guests while she was sick!
