Our stay was short but very pleasant. We were a bit lost so we called -actually three times and Teresa Odea was ever so kind to give us directions-the rooms are spacious and spotless.Teresa and her husband were wonderful to us told us of a great pub with music-we truly had the best time. Breakfast was excellant and again they called to assist us in our plan for that day-just great people.

I would highly recommend this BB. The owner was so nice, she recommended places to eat and she actually drove us into town. Room was nice and the breakfast was very good

We stayed 4 nights with Theresa and felt lke we like we had been adopted. The courtesy and helpfulness was absolutely the best. The room was comfortable and the heating blanket was a pleasant touch. When we left it felt like leaving home a second time. She really cares that her boarders have a good holiday. If I return to Ireland, this will be the home to stay at again.

We had a very pleasant stay at Karaun House, it was a bit hard to find as the GPS co-ordinates in the BB book was wrong, we had since told Teresa the Landlady and she has called to correct the GPS in the book. Aside from being lost in trying to find it, Karaun House was immaculate, everything very clean and the breakfast was delicious, we had melt-in-the-mouth french toast.

Karaun House had everything we hoped for in a BB. Pros: Its only 15 mins. drive or less outside of downtown Galway. Very pretty environs – perfect distance away to enjoy the city, yet not feel cramped by it. Note: This BB looks less quaint at its approach than it really is. Indeed, Karaun House is exceptionally quiet, spotlessly clean, has lovely grounds, is in a great location see above, and has a friendly, 17-year old resident outdoor cat. Our room upstairs, double was quite large by comparison to our other BBs, and our bed was incredibly comfortable. Good bathroom/shower pressure. Breakfast was *wonderful*. Our host, Theresa, was charming – the perfect mix of friendly when we arrived and businesslike breakfast – in a “let me get this for you” way. Best of all, as others have said on Trip Advisor, she directed us down a LOVELY cow path very rural through the most gorgeous landscape weve ever seen to Morans Oyster Cottage on Galway Bay. It was a15 minute walk each way past a ruined cemetery, cows, sheep... As though someone had painted us the perfect Irish landscape. Moran’s is a great restaurant/pub thatched roof but we suggest only walking there in the lighter months; it wasn’t even dusk at 9 p.m. when we left late July – but there are no lamps to light the way. Cons: This website has Karoun House located on Stradbally East. NO ITS ON STRADBALLY NORTH Therefore, it was difficult and confusing to find, even with our GPS. Guests 60+ might find it difficult to take luggage upstairs, where our bedroom was we are in our 30s; not a problem.
