Super nice hosts with wonderful suggestions for food & music in town! Our favorite night at those places in Killarney! Beautiful home & wonderful breakfast! Only drawback was road noise while sleeping 😴

We already have a complaint submitted with Branden Vacations through our AAA. Scheduled to spend 3 nights in order to enjoy Killarney, we new we would spoil our vacation by wasting time traveling the distance back and forth to this uncomfortable, uninviting B&B. We stayed one night and got a Hotel in Killarny for the remaining 2 nights. We did not hang around for a minimal breakfast. Was difficult to advise our hosts of our change in plans as they were unavailable and we felt as though we were intruding on them. There was not a comfortable place to relax. The atmosphere was quite stuffy and not comfortable and friendly. The bathrooms were tiny. The furnishings and accessories were fussy and rigid. We paid for 2 hotel rooms for 2 night in addition to what Haven Rest cost. This did not meet our expectations.

Dear Pamela thank you for taking the time to review our B&B. I am very disappointed to read that you did not find our B&B comfortable or inviting. We have been welcoming guests to our home for many years and our guests always given us such positive feedback on our home. Guests comment on how beautiful the furnishings are how the cosy and relaxing our home is. We ensure that our Continental breakfast is always plentiful, and if you do choose to have a hot breakfast we also serve a varied choice, unfortunately you did not wait to give me the option. I know that the 3km distance to Killarney was not what you wanted and you did not want to “travel this distance back and forth”. We truly enjoy welcoming and interacting with the guests who stay in our home and I can only apologise if you felt we were unfriendly. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip to Ireland. Kay

We found Kaye and George to be the nicest people. We had long conversations with Kaye about the surroundings and she pointed us in the best directions to see the country side. We stayed 2 nights and it was great. The antiques were very beautiful and Kaye was very knowledgeable about them. The GPS we were using pointed us to the exact house on N22. If we had more time to stay and see the sights we would definitely stay at Havens Rest again.

As others have said, the home is lovely. Loved the Victorian furnishings. We didn’t need it, but we didn’t see a sitting area for guests. The parking is adequate. The other people whom we met there were quiet guests and interesting to talk with. We saw three problems, not huge but worthy of mentioning. The home is on a major north-south roadway, and there is no address other than the roadway. It was difficult for us to find the home, even with the hostess’s directions twice on the phone. She didn’t give us anything other than the roadway’s number. She wasn’t sure of landmarks or mileage. Our hostess and her husband are very nice people, but they are not good about giving directions, possibly because they are not as knowledgeable about places in/near Killarney. The road noise at night is a problem. While noted on the confirmation, the continental breakfast was a surprise. I guess we still expected eggs and ham, something of a hot breakfast. There was enough mostly store-bought cold food, even store-bought scones and doughnuts, and it was fine, just not as good as we’d had at other places.
