We had a lovely stay. Jerry and Fiona were wonderful hosts and the breakfast was excellent. The room was great and we slept very well. PS - you might want to put up a sign. We went past it trying to find it. Thank goodness for Google pics.

This is a tough review to write as it will read of polar opposites. The home is lovely, clean and well kept. It looks exactly as it does on the internet, but it took us 20 minutes to find the home as the outside sign is no longer in place. We tried to call and had to call three times to get someone to answer when we were literally 1/4 a mile away. The conversation was not helpful. We arrived just before 6 pm and were greeted by Brenda at the door. She was so intoxicated that she needed to hold onto my shoulders to keep from falling off the stoop. My 25 year old daughter came to see what was going on and Brenda told her she needed to exercise and get moving and grabbed her arms and began moving them over her head, at the same time nearly taking her to the ground with her. We nearly left at that point but there were 5 of us so we knew we had limited options at 6 pm. She took us to our rooms which were beautiful and exactly as pictured, but she could not find our reservation in her book and kept calling me Claudia. We finally found it for her. We asked for breakfast at 8 and she said no too early and couldn’t get our breakfast order written correctly. This interaction went on from door to getting free for over 30 minutes. (We all drink in my family, this was well beyond that) The B&B description says walk to town for dinner, but we drove. Nothing was open. We ended up going about 20 minutes out and hopping place to place until we found somewhere we didn’t need reservations. In the morning we packed and were considering leaving without breakfast, to avoid a re run of the night before which really upset the whole family. We were met downstairs by Fiona, who was everything I expected a host to be. She was welcoming, flexible, apologetic, and accommodating. She made us feel so much better about the stay. We had a delicious bountiful breakfast while being told about her love for Ireland, her family, etc. She was wonderfully refreshing, honest and hilarious. We were grateful we stayed and I considered not writing a review because of her turning our experience around in the end, but I would hate for another family to have the same “evening welcome”. Which was really hard to get past. I understand this is not a rare I understand occurrence and she was in bed when we left. There was no fresh baked goods on arrival (but family said morning brown bread was amazing) and bring cash as her “machine doesn’t work”. We could not connect to internet from the family room on the left side of the house. It really is a lovely home, and Fiona is amazing, but I wouldn’t book again.
