St Bridget’s B&B is situated amongst beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Rathdrum, County Wicklow. All bedrooms are located on ground level with en-suite facilities and modern conveniences to ensure a comfortable night. Guests are invited to avail of the sitting room to relax in front of the TV, curl up with a book or swap stories with other guests. There is a tranquil garden which can be enjoyed during good weather. Guests are invited to start their day with the full Irish, continental or vegetarian breakfast which use good quality locally sourced food and is accompanied by home-baked brown bread.

How to get here

Come to Rathdrum town and down to crossroads, turn right Avoca Road R752 for 1.5 miles Y junction on right turn, my house third on left road no R753.

Stayed here a few nights in May. The host is a lovely man who made us feel very welcome and his dog may be the nicest dog you could ever meet. Room was spacious and clean. We were able to visit Dublin and Glendalough from here.

St. Bridegts is a wonderful base for discovering the Wicklow Region. You can't wish a better host than Johnny! He does his job wuth a lot of passion, he loves hosting people. What a nice guy!

So happy to have found this wonderful B&B for our 3 night stay in Rathdrum. The room was welcoming and so comfortable. Our host Johnny was such a dear man. We so enjoyed talking to him. The made to order breakfasts were so delicious. And what a sweet welcome from his beautiful dog Bob. St Bridget's was by far the best way to start our trip to Ireland.

Avoca Village: The village is the perfect place to spend some time and provides lots to do for an exciting day. A tour of Avoca’s woollen mill is a must, it’s been in operation since 1798 and is the oldest working weaving mill in Ireland. Other must-visits are the famous Avoca Shop and Avoca’s Heritage Centre, after a busy day sightseeing, you can relax and enjoy a bite to eat in one of the villages friendly restaurants. Avoca Village is also famous as the location for the Ballykissangel TV drama shot from 1995 to 2002.
Avondale House and Forest Park: Avondale House is a gorgeous Georgian structure, built in 1777. It is architecturally interesting, and also boasts some original pieces of furniture. Visitors can get to grips with its history through an audio-visual presentation. The house is set in a stunning 500 acre forest park, which is home to brilliant tree trails and a range of wonderful walks. There is also a café, bookshop, kids’ play area and orienteering courses to avail of!
Glendalough: Glendalough, otherwise known as the ‘valley of the two lakes’, is one of Ireland’s most important monastic sites, with stunning scenery, fascinating archaeology, rich history and diverse wildlife! It is a 6th century Early Christian settlement, which boasts the beautiful remains of a round tower, a cathedral, three stone crosses and many churches, just to name a few! The Glendalough Wood Nature Reserve and the fantastic walking trails around the lakes also are not to be missed.
