While abroad in Ireland we stayed at about 6 different B&B’s and we all agreed that Winacre Lodge was our favorite. The house overlooked a beautiful lake each morning while we ate a lovely breakfast. Location wise, it was perfect for evenings in Galway and a full day up in Connemara. Phil and Martin were such gracious hosts, giving us recommendations on food to eat, a memorable hiking path in Connemara, and they even offered to give us a lift into Galway before a night out. We all were so thankful for the hospitality on our trip abroad, and would recommend staying here to anyone stopping through Galway!

Phil and Martin were excellent hosts. The place was easy to find with their directions. Phil gave an excellent recommendation for dinner on our arrival. Breakfast was delicious too. Great location to driving into the city and Connemara. Would like to have spent more time talking with them.

Very nice hosts, good location to go into town or make trips to Connemara, generous breakfast, neat beds and a good bath en suite, really recommendable.

Very nice couple. Nice facility. No top sheet, the toilet was very close to the wall which made it difficult to maneuver. Also, ran out of hot water and only one of us got a hot shower, the other like warm to cold. Breakfast was very good.

What a wonderful place to stay! We were at Winacre Lodge for 3 nights and from the moment we entered the house, we felt at home. Phil and Martin are the most welcoming, warm couple. Our room was very nice. Breakfast was wonderful--whatever you wanted. They gave us great directions to places (the saga of a laundramat was a challenge) that made things so easy. We truly hated to leave and miss them both.
