My goodness, what a wonderful place! This was our first B&B experience in Ireland, and we weren't quite sure what to expect. We were nothing less than thrilled with our experience. Forest Hill is a magical little place just removed from the charming village of Oughterard. Dolores is an incredible hostess. She greeted us upon arrival by name, and she even had taken care to memorize that we had come from Florida. She invited us into the sitting room to sip tea and stare out the windows at the peaks of Connemara. She gave graciously of her time as we talked the afternoon away, laughing about the many types of Americans. We were asked to change rooms to accomodate another couple who were lodging that night. This could have been awkward, but Dolores handled the situation with absolute grace and wit. She got us a table at Powers Pub for dinner. The food was excellent (as was the Guiness), and after dinner we found our way out to Lough Corrib to watch the sun set behind the mountains, its warm-colored rays reflecting on the smooth water's surface. We slept soundly and woke up well rested for our drive to the Cliffs of Mohrer, just a few hours away. We wish we could have stayed longer, feasting on the best bacon in Ireland and wandering the Connemara regions. Hopefully next time across the pond we'll do just that.

Our honeymoon did not start off the greatest, but Dolores really turned it around for us and she really made us feel welcome in her home. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Ireland again and we would highly recommend staying here!

We cannot recommend Forest Hill highly enough!! Delores was a gem, and we truly felt welcomed into her home! When she found out we were celebrating our wedding anniversary she made lovely recommendations for a scenic drive, a monument to visit, and a restaurant and pub where we could get a table. All the recommendations proved to be perfect, and we chatted away at breakfast the next day like old friends. We will definitely be returning!!
