Patrick was welcoming upon our arrival. We arrived after 6 and I don't recall if we called ahead. It was about 7:30/8 PM. Our room was chilly, but I called him and he switched the heat on. Lovely home and nice room, however there was only a trickle of warm water after my son took a shower, which made bathing a little tough for me. Perhaps the heat wasn't on long enough to heat enough water. But, we are here to see this amazing, beautiful country and just want a clean, comfortable place to rest to get up and do it again the next day. Which we did! Breakfast was lovely and Patrick was helpful in giving us directions.

Although the place was very nice, the food was very good, the bed was comfortable, the negative treatment from the hostess put a shadow on all the good things I could say about the place. She was angry and complained that we got in late, we had seen a lot of things on the way but made sure we were there before dark. She seem to be offended that we got in around 730. Then, our room was very cold and Richard asked if we could turn the temperature up and she was angry that we wanted to use her expensive heat to be comfortable. Even the next morning during breakfast she again brought up the fact that we came in late. I somehow felt guilty and I shouldn’t have. Her husband, Patrick, was just the opposite. He gave us good directions on where to meet the bus, how to get around within walking distance to places we might want to see, and was overall very, very nice. It was a shame that Chris wasn’t.

Hi Donna, Thank you so much for your review and for your recent stay in our family run bed and breakfast. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay here with us and that you found the accommodation comfortable and the food was to your liking. We apologise if there was any misinterpretation of Chris's comment. As per B&B Ireland terms and conditions particularly in regard to arrival times "Check in time is between 3pm and 6pm on the day of arrival..." The onus lies with the guest to let us know if they arriving later than this time period as per policy. We assumed that you were not arriving as there was no contact and the room was not heated in advance. We apologise for any discomfort this has caused and we would be delighted to welcome you back should you wish at a future date and we hope it would be a more positive experience for you. Thank you for your feedback - Chris & John Mannix

We spent one night at the Fleske Lodge B&B and our host Patrick was most welcoming and kind. The home is conveniently located and our room was lovely. Breakfast was wonderful! The location was great and within walking distance to the Killarney Brewery, we too had the goat cheese, bacon and maple pizza. It was out of this world! We would definitely recommend this B&B for your next Ireland stay.
