Host was friendly and very animated. A pleasure to chat with. Room had a comfortable bed. There was a chemical type smell in the room which I followed to under the vanity. Be sure to book an en-suite, not standard or you will be sharing a hall bathroom with strangers. Bedding/towels were a bit worn and tired. Be aware you will have to get your luggage up a flight of stairs (which wasn't a problem for us). Breakfast was nice and cooked fresh to order. The walk into city center is doable but I wouldn't say it is 'conveniently close'. We did it one time then ended up driving closer to the city and walking over the bridge the rest of our stay.

Had a good one-night stay here and the location was a convenient short walk to downtown. Clean and comfortable rooms and nice breakfast, kind and charming host. Be sure to bring cash as she doesn’t take credit cards.

We stayed two nights in Gallagers B&B. A nice location in walking distance from Galway centre, good value for money. A very amiable, charming and helpful hostess. I would stay there again.
