Host Helen Webster has been welcoming guests to her County Dublin home for more than 30 years and offers a friendly, genuine Irish welcome. A picturesque coastal village, Howth boasts renowned restaurants, magnificent cliff walks, great golf and waters sports, and plays host to the annual Dublin Bay Prawn Festival. Helen’s husband Andy also offers guests decadent tours of the area by limousine. Dublin city centre is just 10km away and is easily reached by train.

The house and furnishings were beautiful. It seems the details were well thought of, even a mint on the pillow. The bathroom the best by far from all of our stays. The fact that they have some very relaxing areas in the house and in the garden that are allowed to be used was very nice and we took advantage of sitting outside in the park like setting. The house is near the train station so it is pretty easy to get into Dublin, if you don't want to drive in. However, the most important thing for me in a hotel / B&B is the mattress, and this one was so bad. It has most definitely seen way better days. We felt like we were sleeping on an old slanted box spring. My daughter and I tossed all night. I even took all of the pillows and laid them on the bed and tried to make myself a pillow top mattress, but nothing mattered. We were so tired and had to get an early flight so not getting any sleep was a big problem. The other thing was when we arrived, I sent my daughter to the door to see where we should park, as their is only a small drive way, so the parking was street parking (it's a nice neighborhood, so that was not a big deal, but when we heard ample parking, we expected something different), the host was the only one that didn't offer to help with our luggage and we had to drag it from the street, and all this is ok, but what really bothered me was he didn't even stay to meet/greet me. He opened the door for my daughter, showed her the room and when she came out, that was it, he was gone. I didn't find that to be the Irish hospitality we had previously experienced. I suppose some might prefer being left alone, but I thought an introduction would have been better. That said, we would have met them in the morning if we had time for the breakfast we read about, but we had to get on the road at like 5:30 am and so we saw no one, had a very uncomfortable sleep and were sad about missing what was a promising breakfast. If they replaced the mattress, I would have a much higher rating as the location and house were quite good. I'm guessing I would have enjoyed meeting the hosts as well.

Andy and Helen provided the best B&B stay during our Ireland trip. Their home was as inviting as their hospitality. The food was wonderful as was Andy's guidance on traveling to and around Dublin! It was close to the airport so it was perfect for our last 2 days.

Andy & Helen were great hosts. Our room was lovely, with all the amenities you could want and the location was convenient, especially when driving from the airport. Andy was particularly helpful with recommendations for dinner the night we arrived, which was after check-in time and on how to get around the area. Breakfast was one of the more delicious ones we had during our trip. Thank you for your hospitality!

Andy & Helen were great hosts. Wonderful room and location to Howth as well as the airport. It was our last night in Ireland and enjoyed a wonderful dinner in town. Breakfast was delicious and they were very accomodating to our early departure. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
