My husband and I cannot say enough about Sandycove House. The location is breathtaking and possibly our BEST view out of everywhere we stayed in Ireland. When we arrived our hostess was out, but we were greeted by her wonderful son and he helped us get settled. He even gave us some great suggestions for dinner! After getting comfortable in our room, we headed into town (though it was hard to leave the beautiful view for even a little while!!). Upon our return we met Breda and she was super friendly! Very accommodating and we loved talking to her.
The room was comfortable and cozy and we still couldn't get over the view of the water from our window. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the perfect way to start our day. We really wished we could have stayed for a few more days!
If we could, we would give Sandycove, Breda, and her son 20/10 stars. But unfortunately, we can only give 10/10!!

Well the view is for sure breath taking! Lovely scenery all around! We had a blow out on a back road in the middle of no where then our gps took us to the wrong home... we finally arrived late (around 9pm). Our room was nice and breakfast was great just a little sad we did not get to enjoy more if the cove. It had beautiful green and purple rocks at the shore . I think our hostess was a little put out we were so late but it was still a nice stay.

Unfortunately, we had a HORRIBLE experience with the hostesses of SandyCove House. We called 24 hours ahead of our arrival time to confirm our reservation for a twin en suite for two nights. Upon arrival we were met by one of the hostesses of the house and asked to bring our suitcases into the house sitting room. We were shown a tiny room with a double bed and a shared bath down the hall, not the twin en suite that we had reserved. We showed her our voucher, and then she showed us a tiny room with two unmade twin beds and again, a shared bath down the hall. We were told to wait in the sitting room until they prepared the room for us. Within minutes of our arrival, six French people showed up. The second hostess informed us that there was no room available for us and that we had to leave immediately despite taking our voucher to another room. She said the French arrivals had booked with a more lucrative booking agency. We asked if there was somewhere else we could stay for the night and without offering suggestions, she rudely told us to get out of her house! We had to ask the French people to move their cars so we could get down the very steep driveway. We would have been totally lost except for a lovely woman who met us on the unmarked road and led us back to the main road to Skibbereen. Fortunately, we were able to get a twin en suite room for two nights at the West Cork Hotel in Skibbereen.

The greatest view of all our stay!!! Private beach and awesome accommodations. We arrived at a time of crisis for the owners yet they made sure our stay was pleasant and enjoyable, wish we had time to stay and relax for a few days!!
