Kilbawn Country House is a family run  Bed & Breakfast situated in the heart of County Kilkenny, surrounded with magnificent views of the countryside including Mount Leinster. Our rooms are furnished with King size orthopaedic beds and electric blankets for extra comfort. We are just a 20-minute drive from Kilkenny City and Medieval Kilkenny Castle, 10 minutes’ drive from Jerpoint Abbey & Park, 15 minutes from Duiske Abbey in Graiguenamanagh, while Kilfane Glen & Waterfall is just 5 minutes away. We are ideally situated to tour the South East with Wexford, Waterford Crystal, Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle in Tipperary all within a 1-hour drive.

How to get here

Kilbawn Country House business is relocated to newly  built huse , located less than 1km north of Dungarvan Village  on the R448 between Gowran and Thomastown. Please use Eircode: R95 V6PO, this will bring you directly to the home, alternatively please contact the host for directions prior to arrival. 

From Kilkenny City take the R 712 to the R 702 arriving at Gowran take the R448 in the direction of Thomastown passing Gowran park racecourse ,we are located on the right on the outskirts of Dungarvan Village.

We are 6.9km, 8 min drive from Gowran; 7.2km, 10 min drive from Thomastown, Kilkenny Castle is 15.7 km, 20 min drive.

Elizabeth was so welcoming and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Breskfast was perfect. I recommend this place!

Very warm welcome. We felt like we were with friends. The breakfast was wonderful, especially the pencakes. The tips for the rest of our trip were excellent. We can highly recommend this place!

The best place we stayed in all of Ireland. Lovely accommodations, hot shower, sweet dog, and excellent food. Elizabeth and Jim are so helpful and were an excellent introduction to Ireland and the hospitality of the Irish.

This was the best place we stayed while in Ireland. Host was over the top kind. We had the best breakfast by far here. The home and grounds are very special.
