Kilbawn Country House is a family run  Bed & Breakfast situated in the heart of County Kilkenny, surrounded with magnificent views of the countryside including Mount Leinster. Our rooms are furnished with King size orthopaedic beds and electric blankets for extra comfort. We are just a 20-minute drive from Kilkenny City and Medieval Kilkenny Castle, 10 minutes’ drive from Jerpoint Abbey & Park, 15 minutes from Duiske Abbey in Graiguenamanagh, while Kilfane Glen & Waterfall is just 5 minutes away. We are ideally situated to tour the South East with Wexford, Waterford Crystal, Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle in Tipperary all within a 1-hour drive. 

How to get here

Kilbawn Country House business is relocated to newly  built huse , located less than 1km north of Dungarvan Village  on the R448 between Gowran and Thomastown. Please use Eircode: R95 V6PO, this will bring you directly to the home, alternatively please contact the host for directions prior to arrival. 

From Kilkenny City take the R 712 to the R 702 arriving at Gowran take the R448 in the direction of Thomastown passing Gowran park racecourse ,we are located on the right on the outskirts of Dungarvan Village.

We are 6.9km, 8 min drive from Gowran; 7.2km, 10 min drive from Thomastown, Kilkenny Castle is 15.7 km, 20 min drive.

Staying at Kilbawn Country House was a delight. Our host and hostess were a delight, especially after a busy, long day. She was helpful in finding a place to eat in the evening. Her home and our room were great. And the breakfast was super! She was helpful in guiding us to our sites for the following day. I would stay there again.

We enjoyed very much our stay at kilbawn Country House. The rooms are very confortable. Elizabeth pays a lot of attention to her guests ans is eager to give them all pieces of information they need. Breakast is very good. Jim and Elizabeth welcomed us warmly. For dinner and have a pint, we went to kyletter's inn in Kilkenny where there was traditionnal music. The whole stay was great!

Einfach nur wunderbar! Die Gastgeber, ein so sehr reizendes Paar, sie haben sich um alles mit vollem Herzen gekümmert. Die Lage sehr schön ruhig, das Haus prima und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück fabelhaft, was will man mehr? Wir sagen noch einmal ganz herzlichen Dank. Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt!
