We spent wonderful three days in the south of Ireland and the excellent B&B was a big part of it. The friendliness, the great breakfast and the really nice room have completely convinced us. We felt comfortable every minute. Thank you very much. Sonja & Werner

This was one of our favorite places to stay! Mary planned excellent breakfasts…… the salmon and eggs were the best. We walked to town easily and enjoyed the local pubs, shops and the stone circle. There’s also many historical sites nearby for day trips. Waterfalls, stone circles and dolmen tombs were 20 min away. We enjoyed watching the locals play football on the GAA field right out front. Just past the field was the river with mountains behind it. Absolutely stunning. Ask for some of Mary’s black currant jam and be sure to hear Paul play at the Atlantic pub.

We were very happy with our stay here - the location, wonderful hosts, great breakfast! Mary was helpful in suggesting we return to a site we were initially rained-out from so we did and were very glad! Her recommended restaurant in town was really good (and popular), too! it was the perfect place to stay for us to enjoy many parts of the Kerry peninsula and Ring of Kerry, including the Killarney national park (while avoiding big tour groups/coaches)1

My husband and I just returned from our fabulous two week visit to Ireland. Our favorite stay was at Ashfield B&B. Mary was so very welcoming and fun to talk to. She gave us great suggestions on where to go and sites to see. Her husband, Paul, was a delight as well. He even invited us to come listen to him play music at a pub one night which we did and thoroughly enjoyed! It was one of the highlights of our trip. The room was perfect – lots of places to set our things (especially in bathroom), well-equipped, light, bright, and airy. The bathroom was the best one we experienced the entire trip (we had struggled with a couple of showers!). Everything was spotlessly clean. We loved having tea available, and a beautiful little sitting area in our room where we could quietly read and look out over a soccer field. The breakfasts were delicious (I even tried to replicate Mary’s delicious omelet at home with not much luck-guess I need to go back). There was a large selection of cereal, fresh fruits and juices and a made to order meal. Our visit truly felt like we were guests in her home and several times throughout the rest of our trip we said we wished we could go back to Kenmare and Ashfield. Highly recommend and hope to be able to visit again soon.

Amazing! About 4 weeks before our Sept 2022 trip our original B and B in Kenmare closed and I can say there was some panic. We were very happy to be able to book at Ashfield for our 4 night stay. We are so very happy and I guess things work out for a reason. Mary’s was so welcoming, kind, and helpful! Her home was very clean, quiet and her breakfasts were fantastic! The location was a very easy walk into Kenmare. She recommended restaurants for our evening meals and places to go for our daily sightseeing trips, we were on a self drive tour, and we couldn’t have been happier. We loved the area and this will definitely be our place to stay again! Thank you! Debbie and Brian Lesley and Phil Ontario, Canada
