Staying at Carmel and Davey's beautiful home was a treat! The house, which was built by Davey, is beautifully designed and decorated to reflect the family's love of the Kenmare region. Much of the furniture throughout the house has been handcrafted by Davey, and it is gorgeous! Our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the landscaping was dotted with more of Davey's creations. We would highly recommend a stay at this lovely home.

Talk about a fairy-tale setting, Staying here was our favorite stay while in Ireland. The breakfast was traditional and very tasty esp. the coffee served in a french press. The garden areas all around the house were a joy to see every morning. Flowers everywhere. I couldn't stop smiling the entire stay. We would go out of our way to stay here again. Kenmare just down the road was also a perfect Irish town, lots of shopping and Cafes/Pubs.

It doesn't get much nicer than this. We really enjoyed our stay here, they have beautiful, spacious rooms in a very nicely built stone house. (Davey is a very talented stone mason) Only 2km to Kenmare which is a very cool town with a lot to see. The landscaping around the house is beautiful and everything was spotless. We would stay here again.

My mom and my stay at Lissyclearig was wonderful. We arrived and met Carmel and she was helpful in giving us ideas for where to eat. She was also quite helpful and we planned our drive around the ring of Kerry the next day. She gave us a helpful map. It was nice to sit in the common area with tea and cookies and plan the next day’s drive. It is really fun to walk around the yard and see all of the various decorations they have.

This is a cute home with a very rustic feel. Very convenient location in regards to the town of Kenmare, just about a 5 minutes drive from the town center. Despite this, however, no one was home to greet us when we arrived. We did arrive within the time frame and the house was dark. We had to call Carmel multiple times to get in touch with her and she told us to let ourselves in with the key under the mat. Myself and my boyfriend had a room on the second floor and the other couple with us had theirs on the first. This we found a bit odd, but that was fine. The house was cold, no heat. The power also went out at some point during the night so we woke up to no heat and water. Carmel, however, did a fantastic job with her hospitality at this point, as this is not her fault. She was able to cook us breakfast without electricity and it was fantastic. I highly recommend the jam she has! Definitely would stay here again despite the circumstances as it was out of their control. Lovely home and host!
