Lovely home and beautiful spacious bedroom. Julianne and Dave are great hosts. Daisy the dog was a joy to visit with too.
Julianne offered up a wonderful breakfast and loads of information of places to visit while in the Burren area.
A great place to stay.

The Magouhy House B&B is truly in the heart of the Burren. Just up the road in village of Carren is Cassidy’s, a relaxed pub with tasty food. (However the Pub is open only during high tourist season. The next villages are a fair distance away.) If the weather is clear, this is the place for an evening country-stroll to star gaze. The House is quite a comfortable modern home built from the weather-worn stone of the ancient original family farm house. The proprietors are kind, generous, helpful and interesting. Cold-clear water reminiscent of spring water was brought up to our room upon arrival. I surprised myself saying porridge when asked what I wanted for breakfast; and, the experience of eating porridge in a home built from the old farmhouse stones gave me a sense of being in Ireland of the past and present. We received excellent information on how to tour the area. The first day we went Northwest to experience the Burren Center in Kifenora, the Cliffs of Moher, Poulnabrone Dolmen, Catherconnell Ring fort, Leamaneh Castle. The second day we went Southeast to the Burren Perfumery and the hiking trails of Burren National Park. (Trail maps are not readily available on site in Ireland and need to be downloaded ahead of time.) The Magoughy House is an excellent B&B to experience the Irish country side.

Booked a room here as we knew we'd be in the heart of the Burren National Park and wanted a place close by to stay- reviews indicated there was a place to eat within walking distance, perfect the last thing we wanted to do was drive after hiking all day. We arrived between the time I received via email, but was greeted with a bit of annoyance because we were early. ( I guess they prefer a 4:00 arrival time) Beautiful home and we ended up having the place to ourselves which was nice but the pub we had hoped to go to had closed 2 days prior for the season which required us to drive into the nearest town which took quite a bit of time........needless to say if you stay here be prepared to be a bit removed from anything easy or close as far as food. Had we known the only place to eat from here was closed, we would have made a point to pick something up before going out there. Might be best to check that if it's important to you.
