Una Smith

Una and her son Ciaran will be delighted to welcome you to our Victorian house overlooking an old 18th century stone bridge spanning the river Annalee. Una has been running the B&B for 40 years. All the original ceilings and fireplaces etc. are still intact in the house. Una and Ciaran, who runs the dairy farm will help with advice for fishing hotspots and walking trails in the nearby Dartry forest and Bellamont Estate. They are very knowledgeable about the local area and families living in it.

It is a nice place and Una is a lovely woman. She and her dog made the stay a good experience. It was tidy but it looked a little bit old in the house. You could go for a walk in the area or play with the dog. Overall a good place to stay.

Una a été une hôtesse adorable et très à l'écoute. La chambre et la salle de bains étaient propres mais plutôt vieillottes et encombrées....Le site est très paisible.

Our stay in Riverside was surprising. Uma is a lovely host. She offered us hot whisky and provided a huge breakfast. However the room and facilities would deserve to be renovated. Going to riverside is like visiting your granny.

Ulna is very gracious and goes out of her way to serve her guests. She was very helpful with local history and genealogy guiding us to local resources. We were late getting there and she made us soup and sandwiches! The comfort of the bed was less than perfect, but a stay at Riverside is like going to Grandma's house.

This B and B is definitely full of historical charm, set in a tranquil riverside location. Una is a wonderful host and the facilities are very homely. We enjoyed our time staying in the cottage and exploring the surrounding farms and walking tracks. The only negative that came to light was that the building and room facilities could do with some maintenance and updating for a more comfortable experience. Of course though, this is an old building with oodles of charm and history, that's why we stay in B and Bs. Definitely worth a visit.
