I needed a quiet respite from a very busy and stressful life. I came across this b&b which seemed perfect, and it was! It stands alone with exceptional views. It is about a 10/15 minute drive to a garage/shop and not much further to other places to eat and to Ballycotton, which has a cliff walk. You are in Ballymaloe country here, with a Kilkenny outlet for good measure. Gentle rambling is the order of the day. There was a small secluded beach about 4 mins drive away. Perfect for a stroll or paddle in the September evening sun. The view of Ballycotton lighthouse from my room, was so beautiful. After a drive around and a take out meal, i sat in my very comfortable room feeling very relaxed. The wifi signal is very good, which is great for people like me, who like to watch a movie at night. Margaret is an excellent host. She is so knowledgeable about all that the area has to offer, and also she is such a lovely person. Nothing was too much trouble. I said that my daughter might need to come to stay and Margaret was so relaxed and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and her homage brown bread was lovely. A perfect, peaceful, retreat from life as we know it.

We started our Ireland road trip here, and I wish we could have spent more time at castle farm. It is a beautiful place with wonderful hosts, it’s a clean and comfortable home with a serene environment. It’s close enough to the towns for the convenience of restaurants and pubs, but far enough to find the peace that you are searching for. The Ballycotton lighthouse in the distance will lull you right to sleep. We had difficulty using our vacation voucher on our first few nights of our trip, and Margaret made it a worry free situation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, it was such a warm and needed welcome to such a stunning country.

We stayed for 2 nights, 2 rooms, 4 people. We loved the view of the sea and the breakfast was excellent. The hosts were very friendly and great cooks. The local area was beautiful. We did the rock of Cashel on the way to the B&B and did Blarney Castle and south west coast between nights. Overall, an excellent stay.

What an exceptional place! The home and views were beautiful. Margaret was delightful. Such a warm, cheery welcome! She was so personable and talked with us about the house, farm and area. We enjoyed the beach and town. One of the most fantastic views ever from our room. Wish we could have stayed longer. Our time at Castle Farm and with Margaret was far too short.
