On a recent 2 week trip to Ireland we booked a variety of accommodations, from 2 bedroom apartments in Dublin and Galway to this peaceful B&B in the Dingle countryside. Coill An Rois was just what we were hoping for, a chance to spend a bit of time with a local host who could share stories and information about the area. Jimmy is a very experienced host who seemed to know about everything and everyone on the Dingle peninsula. He shared interesting histories about the area and some of the local establishments, advice on where to eat and what to see, and was a wealth of information. We had a car so it was very easy to get to his B&B but others had hiked in or come via taxi. My husband and I had a room on the ground floor, which was great for my somewhat limited mobility, and our friends had one on the second floor. Both were lovely - large, quiet and very clean - with beautiful views. As many others have mentioned, Jimmy is a great chef, making a variety of baked treats and using fresh eggs from his family’s farm. I would stay here again. The only things I might do differently next time would be to stay longer (3-4 nights would allow for a much better pace to see the many sights of Dingle) and, having enjoyed Dingle in the quiet and very green month of May, I would go in June to see the Coill An Rois (rose woods/forest) in bloom. Thanks Jimmy, it was such a treat!
PS. Try the Dingle gin ice cream! It was amazing.

Wow what a fantastic B&B. Jimmy is the perfect host. Try the porridge with Irish Cream. YUM. The breakfasts were made from scratch with homemade scones. He even got up early, in the dark and pick fresh blackberries for us. His guidance on where to hike, eat and sight see were totally what we were looking for.
Thanks to Noreen also!

The house is in a great place and Jimmy was a hospitable host. His breakfast was one of the best we had while in Ireland. Our room was roomy and comfortable. I highly recommend this as a starting point to take the Slea Head Drive.
