Lovett Family

The Lovett Family have been farming the land for generations and welcoming guests for over 40 years. The old stone farm cottage still exists. Cattle mainly Hereford and Charolais and sheep namely Suffolk and Scotch are reared on the farm. There is always lots of work to be done on the farm with the vegetables being sown in spring and silage cutting during the summer months. Many of our guests take a stroll before or after breakfast to the farm, enjoying the panoramic views on the way.

Nestled on 100 acres of luscious farmland, enjoy stunning views of County Kerry’s majestic mountains and the buzz of life on a working farm at White Heather Farm. The Lovett family have been welcoming guests for more than 30 years, treating them to orthopaedic beds, indulgent breakfasts and great local knowledge. Ideal for tours of the Ring of Kerry, Beara Peninsula and Bonane Heritage Park, the picturesque town of Kenmare is also 4km away. Guests can enjoy gourmet restaurants, vibrant pubs and a wealth of outdoor activities.

Farmstay Experience

There is always something to do on the farm; with the vegetables being sown in spring and silage cutting during the summer months. Guests can take a stroll around the farm and see the vegetable garden and the orchard, they can even visit the hens to collect eggs.  Guests may also have a stroll on the mountain at the back of the farm and if they are feeling very adventurous guests are welcome to go for a swim on the river Sheen which flows through the farm!

Sheila gave us a warm welcome and took great care of us. Hats off to her for managing to do it all. The room was fine. We definitely got a sense of farm life thanks to all the animals around us. Thanks, Sheila, for your tips on things to do.

This was a very nice stay. Sheila was always so kind. The rooms were tidy and clean. The farm has a beautiful surrounding. The breakfast was perfect. We did not miss anything. I can only rate 10/10 cause you can't buy kindness and we got it here. Thanks Sheila and family for all. Maybe we will see again.

We enjoyed our stay at White Heather Farm. The location is beautiful and a short drive into Kenmare. The room provided a great view of the mountain and sheep behind the house. Sheila was very welcoming and provided some great tips about places to eat in town and sights to see as we continued along the Ring of Kerry.

It was beautiful! Sheila was hospitable and welcoming and the rooms were comfortable. We could see sheep lounging under apple trees from our window, which was lovely. Breakfast was cooked to order and it was great just walking around and observing the animals. Quiet and picturesque, but close to town! Would highly recommend.

One of our favorite stays in Ireland. True Irish hospitality, very knowledgeable about local sights, travel suggestions, and the best chocolate in Kenmare ! It was great fun meeting farm people, even the grandkids interacted with us.. Breakfasts were great, cooked to our requests.
