Meet your host…

Lovett Family

The Lovett Family have been farming the land for generations and welcoming guests for over 40 years. The old stone farm cottage still exists. Cattle mainly Hereford @ Charolais and sheep namely Suffolk @ Scotch are reared on the farm. There is always lots of work to be done on the farm with the vegetables being sown in spring and silage cutting during the summer months. Many of our guests take a stroll before or after breakfast to the farm, enjoying the panoramic views on the way.

Glengarriff Road

Ideal for tours of the Ring of Kerry, Beara Peninsula and Bonane Heritage Park, the picturesque town of Kenmare is also 4km away. Farmstay Experience

There is always something to do on the farm; with the vegetables being sown in spring and silage cutting during the summer months. Guests can take a stroll around the farm and see the vegetable garden and the orchard, they can even visit the hens to collect eggs.  Guests may also have a stroll on the mountain at the back of the farm and if they are feeling very adventurous guests are welcome to go for a swim on the river Sheen which flows through the farm!

Sheila and Pat are excellent hosts. They had great tips for us and our trip. The room was very nice and in the morning there was a great breakfast. Many thanks for everything and warm regards from Roland and Michaela.

My sister and I loved our stay at White Heather. Sheila was an amazing hostess. She lit a fire in the living room for us, accommodated our early breakfast time, and had great recommendations for things to do in the area. We both love animals, so it was also interesting to learn a little about the farm.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay here. Lovely, clean rooms set in the beautiful countryside, but close enough to Kenmare to enjoy the pubs and music. Sheila is a delightful hostess, and breakfast was great. We would definitely stay here again.
