Review Score: Superb 9.1/10

4km from Kenmare

Meet your host…

Lovett Family

The Lovett Family have been farming the land for generations and welcoming guests for over 40 years. The old stone farm cottage still exists. Cattle mainly Hereford @ Charolais and sheep namely Suffolk @ Scotch are reared on the farm. There is always lots of work to be done on the farm with the vegetables being sown in spring and silage cutting during the summer months. Many of our guests take a stroll before or after breakfast to the farm, enjoying the panoramic views on the way.

Nestled on 100 acres of luscious farmland, enjoy stunning views of County Kerry’s majestic mountains and the buzz of life on a working farm at White Heather Farm. The Lovett family have been welcoming guests for more than 30 years, treating them to orthopaedic beds, indulgent breakfasts and great local knowledge. Ideal for tours of the Ring of Kerry, Beara Peninsula and Bonane Heritage Park, the picturesque town of Kenmare is also 4km away. Guests can enjoy gourmet restaurants, vibrant pubs and a wealth of outdoor activities.

Farmstay Experience

There is always something to do on the farm; with the vegetables being sown in spring and silage cutting during the summer months. Guests can take a stroll around the farm and see the vegetable garden and the orchard, they can even visit the hens to collect eggs.  Guests may also have a stroll on the mountain at the back of the farm and if they are feeling very adventurous guests are welcome to go for a swim on the river Sheen which flows through the farm!

Sheila is a very kind and welcoming person. House with a beautiful garden, a large living room and a bright dining room. Large standard room with sink and TV. Delicious breakfast with a wide choice. Adresse typique, gite authentique ! Un grand merci à Sheila pour son accueil et sa gentillesse.

A short but delightful stay! Easy to find, stunning views, cozy and well-appointed rooms! One of our favorites, and we hope to come back and stay a little longer. We arrived late, and Sheila had some very helpful advice on where to get dinner in Kenmare. After an excellent breakfast, Sheila gave a useful driving tip to get us on the Ring of Kerry via a "shortcut". As a result, we got to see some stunning vistas of the peninsula that very few tourists ever get to see!

A beautiful home! Everything was typical Ireland...picturesque, friendly, and cozy. White Heather is in a great location and makes it easy to access Kenmare and the other attractions in the area, like Gleninchaquin Park. Breakfast was filling and yummy and Shelia was a lovely host.

This farm house is situated near a mountain with stunning views all around!!! There were cute little sheep grazing and sleeping under apple trees just outside our bedroom window. We loved it! The house is older and the room can be a little musky on arrival, but opening the windows freshens it right up! Sheila is fabulous and very concerned about tending all her guests needs! We truly enjoyed our stay!
