White Heather Farm

Kenmare, Kerry, V93 VXD0

4km from Kenmare

Meet your host…

Lovett Family

The Lovett Family have been farming the land for generations and welcoming guests for over 40 years. The old stone farm cottage still exists. Cattle mainly Hereford @ Charolais and sheep namely Suffolk @ Scotch are reared on the farm. There is always lots of work to be done on the farm with the vegetables being sown in spring and silage cutting during the summer months. Many of our guests take a stroll before or after breakfast to the farm, enjoying the panoramic views on the way.

Sheila was a very welcoming host, and went out of her way to make us comfortable, even providing us with coffee and muffins for supper! The room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast very satisfying with home baking.

Warm greeting as we arrived fairly late about 9 pm. Shelia is a great hostess. Room was spacious with ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was wonderful with home cooked bread and all the fixings. Each morning was delightful with a friendly chat from Shelia. We had planned to spend one night only but booked and extra night to drive to Bantry and the Healy Pass.

My mom and I stayed here June 8 and June 9. The place is on the main road so is easy to find. Also, Kenmare is just a few minutes drive away. We enjoyed the quite of this place and liked our room with the two beds, and which was a good size. Sheila is very welcoming, talkative and cooks an excellent breakfast. We also appreciated husband Pat's friendliness. Kenmare is a great little town and quite busy. We enjoyed the two places where we had supper: Landsdowne Arms Hotel and Foley's Bar. For some shopping, we checked out Quill's Woollen Market. I went hiking in one very very cool place one day but I'm guarding that one....! Thank you again, Sheila and Pat for happy memory.
