Meet your host…

Mrs Anne Finn Maybury

Tara Farm has been taking in Guests since 1967 so you could say I was born into the business. My mother Margaret ran it for about 30 years and now I have taken over the mantel. I am a retired Secondary School Teacher (June 2016) , I love meeting people and being involved in this business affords you that opportunity. I have a passion for all things "old" , I love to cook and bake ,swim and read with a passion for local history. Married to Sean Finn, with two sons Richard and Seanie.

Our stay at Tara was wonderful! Anne was incredibly helpful on the phone giving us directions, and was warm and welcoming upon our arrival. The room was just as we had ordered and immaculate. The view from the small balcony: indescribably gorgeous. Breakfast the next morning was sumptuous: fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, brown bread, and a choice of hot entrees. Again, the view stole the show! A memorable stay.

My wife and I spent two nights at Tara Farm and enjoyed every minute. The drive along the narrow road leading up to the B&B is one of the prettiest in all of Ireland. Our first floor room was bright and very spacious. Both breakfasts were superb. Also, Kenmare is one of the finest small towns in Ireland and well worth the visit and serves as a great starting point to tour the Ring of Kerry and/or the other peninsulas.

A real hedgehog walked across the road as we drove back from the restaurant in Kenmare. The location on a farm was wonderful. The room was very large and nice and clean. The breakfast was superb. She even made real Irish porridge for me for breakfast. It was just a short drive to town. Very relaxing. Would have spent more time if our schedule allowed.

Eric and Darlene thank you for your lovely review. Yes yes I saw a hedgehog for the first time in years this end of summer also , we saw lots of them as children but it must be the warm weather this year that has brought them out . I am glad that you enjoyed your brief stay with us and we would love to welcome you back sometime in the future . Warmest regards Anne
