Meet your host…

Mrs Anne Finn Maybury

Tara Farm has been taking in Guests since 1967 so you could say I was born into the business. My mother Margaret ran it for about 30 years and now I have taken over the mantel. I am a retired Secondary School Teacher (June 2016) , I love meeting people and being involved in this business affords you that opportunity. I have a passion for all things "old" , I love to cook and bake ,swim and read with a passion for local history. Married to Sean Finn, with two sons Richard and Seanie.

A real hedgehog walked across the road as we drove back from the restaurant in Kenmare. The location on a farm was wonderful. The room was very large and nice and clean. The breakfast was superb. She even made real Irish porridge for me for breakfast. It was just a short drive to town. Very relaxing. Would have spent more time if our schedule allowed.

Eric and Darlene thank you for your lovely review. Yes yes I saw a hedgehog for the first time in years this end of summer also , we saw lots of them as children but it must be the warm weather this year that has brought them out . I am glad that you enjoyed your brief stay with us and we would love to welcome you back sometime in the future . Warmest regards Anne

We loved this place and although never got to meet the owner, her friend Tom was gracious and welcoming offering us tea upon arrival and we loved the room, the food, and of course the wonderful view. It was nice being just out of the city center so felt like in the country but close to everything. Bought some nice sweaters and scarfs downtown! We would love to come back and stay longer and explore the immediate area more.

Dennis Thank you for your lovely review of our home . You stayed here on Saturday 20th of October and I was actually taking a break myself during that time with family . Tom is my brother in law and a truly lovely Man , he moves in if I am ever away to take care of things as we also have Animals on the Farm and Dogs on the property to take care of . I am delighted that you enjoyed the room , the food and the welcome . We are very fortunate as we have lovely shops in Kenmare . We would love to welcome you back sometime in the future and yes , Kenmare is a place that you could spend several days in , Warmest regards, Anne and Tom

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights as part of our week long Ireland trip. This was my favorite place of the 5 locations we stayed and I would have gladly stayed longer in this paradise. The breakfast was incredible! The host made the best french toast I have ever had by far. There was a menu to choose from and there were gourmet cheeses, a huge selection of fruit, cereal, yogurt, and many drinks. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. I picked this place because of the view and it didn't disappoint. From our window we could see the coast, hills, mountains, farms, and their beautifully landscaped property. We didn't get to walk down to the water like the description said but the rest of the experience made up for it. The door handles to our room and bathroom screeched loudly. That was the one and only flaw of the house. Everything was neat and clean. The bed was comfortable. The town of Kenmare was full of great restaurants and a perfect location to visit the Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry. I would come back here and recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

By far, one of our favorite B&B's on our mother daughter trip. Our room was spacious with a beautiful view where we enjoyed a cup of coffee. We were shown several places for our early dinner - our pick was fabulous! We wandered around town ending with a street concert before returning for a wonderful night's rest. Breakfast was once again a beautiful start to our ongoing adventure. We are very appreciative for the warm hospitality of Tara Farm. We hope to return one day!
