Meet your host…

Mrs Anne Finn Maybury

Tara Farm has been taking in Guests since 1967 so you could say I was born into the business. My mother Margaret ran it for about 30 years and now I have taken over the mantel. I am a retired Secondary School Teacher (June 2016) , I love meeting people and being involved in this business affords you that opportunity. I have a passion for all things "old" , I love to cook and bake ,swim and read with a passion for local history. Married to Sean Finn, with two sons Richard and Seanie.

Ideally located with breathtaking panoramas of Kenmare Bay and County Kerry’s mountainous landscape, Tara Farm is a rural haven on a stunning 30 acres of land. Welcoming guests since 1967, guests can enjoy delicious breakfasts, with seafood a speciality, as well as arranged fishing trips. Only 1km from the heritage town of Kenmare, visitors can golf, swim, horse ride, hill walk and take the Seafari boat trip to explore the area’s wildlife. The town also boasts gourmet restaurants and lively pubs.

By far the loveliest B&B we visited in our week in Ireland. Idyllic location, lovely views and walking distance to town. Our room even had a little balcony with chairs and table! We met some of the other guests over an afternoon cuppa and the whole experience was very welcoming. Lovely stay, thank you!

Federico and Clarissa , Thank you so much for your lovely review . I am so glad that you enjoyed your time with us at Tara Farm and the views over the Kenmare Bay and mountains . The great thing about staying in a Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast is that you get to meet and mingle with the family and other Guests , which just makes the whole experience perfect . We hope that you enjoyed the rest of your holiday and we would love to welcome you back one day to Tara Farm , Warmest regards, Anne

Everything, location, cleanliness, services, view, etc., was great. The best B&B we have ever stayed in. Definitively will recommend to others.

IT WAS GREAT! Fantastic view from our room. The room was lovely and clean just like the bathroom. Nice shower too. And the breakfast was everything you dream of! We can recommend this place, just a 10 minutes walk from downtown Kenmare and a great starting point for the Ring of Kerry.

I cannot give a review for Tara Farm. When we arrived to check in, the host had the flu and could not receive us, however, she had been kind enough to find us another location on the same road. That B&B we did stay at, Rock Crest House was wonderful. The town of Kenmare was such a delight. We had 2 nights there and could have stayed longer if time constraints would have permitted. The Traditional Irish Music in that town was the best of anywhere we stayed in Ireland, including Dublin.

Thank you for your comments . I am sorry that I could not accommodate you but the entire household had FLU and it would be foolish of us to expose our Guests to the possibility of catching same . I am glad that my Brother in Law Tom , found you an excellent alternative and that you were so happy there . It is always great to be able to rely on good neighbours like Marian and David at Rockcrest House . With kindest regards, Anne and Tom at Tara Farm

We spent one night at Tara Farm. The B&B is absolutely lovely! Anne was incredibly sweet and got us settled in right away; and even offered some excellent dinner suggestions. The views from the breakfast room are spectacular (even on a misty morning such as we had). Hearing the cattle lowing in the evening was nice and we got to meet the resident dogs (would have loved to cuddle with them longer!). We even got a little history of the naming of the mountain nearby at breakfast! Anne is an absolute gem (even posting some items of clothing we accidentally left in the closet in the room). I highly recommend staying here.

Thank you Amy for your lovely words , it was lovely having you to stay overnight with us . Pity about your clothes and the expense of shipping . We are glad to be of service and delighted that you enjoyed the cattle lowing and the Dog's presence as this is a Farm setting for sure , With kindest regards Anne
