I am not quite sure what to say about Muckross. This was the B&B that we liked the least during our visit. The photos of the site showed a fully functional farm with horses, goats, etc. We did see the beautiful horses on site later that evening, but the only other animal was a dog that was laying in the parking lot that would not move to allow someone to park. We ended up parking on the last side of the house. We did not feel as welcome as the other three B&B's that we stayed at. The owner was pretty rude about me parking on the back side of the house due to their dog. Breakfast the next morning was not exactly what I would call a filling breakfast. I was expecting the same quality Irish Breakfast that we had experienced at other stays. Instead we were offered fruit, pastry, cold cuts, and cheese. We did meet two wonderful couples there during breakfast that felt the same way as the above review. Muckross Riding Stables leaves a lot to be desired for. We will not be staying here in the future and I would recommend others to seek other options as their are plenty available in the area.

Dear Guest. We are truly diappointed with your review. We have been in business for over 40 years and we have always taken pride in our property and how we care for our customers as is evident from our previous reviews. We have a fully functioning farm and everything in the pictures is still here at the farm. I dont know where you think you saw pictures of goats but we have not had goats here for a number of years now. In relation to breakfast we offer continental breakfast to some of our guests depending on the site you book through. On the morning in question while I was busy preparing a fiull Irish breakfast for other guests and by the time I got to you to offer you your hot breakfast option you had already filled up on the continental options. It is unfortunate you had no room left to enjoy our infamous fresh cooked full Irish breakfast. We hope the rest of your trip met your expectations. The ODonovan Family

My friend and I loved staying here two nights. Maureen and her daughter were accommodating and helpful with finding day excursions we had in mind. Maureen even got out a map to show us how to get into the town of Kilarney to shop. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful and breakfast was delicious each morning.

This was a great B&B! We were travelling with our two sons age 2 & 3 and they absolutely loved the sheep, horses and playground in the beautiful yard. When they were being a handful, Mrs. O'Donovan and her daughter gave them some toys to play with and they couldn't have been better hosts. Aside from the beautiful house and clean rooms the location was perfect, being right in Killarney National Park and a short drive from downtown Killarney. I would highly recommend this B&B and we will definitely be staying there again on our next trip to Ireland!!
