A modern bungalow in stunning County Kilkenny, The Bungalow Farmhouse offers a genuine Irish welcome to all guests. On a working farm, guests can enjoy great food and hospitality from host Gretta Power. Just 6km from the picturesque village of Freshford, guests can enjoy a pint or two and even participate in the Irish Conker Championships held annually in the village. Guests will be superbly located to tour medieval Kilkenny city, with its magnificent castle, St. Canice’s Cathedral and National Crafts Gallery, and the exceptional Rock of Cashel in nearby Tipperary. Families are very welcome at the bed and breakfast.

Farmstay Experience

The Bungalow Farmhouse is set on a working beef, sheep and horse farm. Guests are welcome to see, and where possible, take part in the farm activities that are taking place at the time of their visit such as feeding the orphan lambs and horses.  Guests can also watch Sean the Farmer/Host making silage/hay, rounding up the sheep or they can just go for a casual stroll around the farm.

From Kilkenny: Take R693 (Freshford Road) out of Kilkenny, come through village of Freshford and continue on R693 until you reach a petrol station (Amber Oil) 7km from Freshford. Take the next right after the station, it's the third house up.

This was our first stay in Ireland and it spoiled us for the rest of our vacation! So wonderful to just listen to the bleating sheep. The hospitality was delightful and the rooms were comfortable. If we are ever able to return, we will return as friends visiting Greta and her husband!

We only stayed one night, but wish we could've stayed longer. The farm is about 30min from Kilkenny and very peaceful, with comfortable rooms, a wonderful breakfast, and lovely host Gretta. We felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay.

Simply a wonderful experience at the Bungalow Farmhouse. Beautiful, quiet setting, great room, fantastic breakfast, delightful hosts. A bonus was seeing the sheep and abundant bird life around the farm.

So many good things to say about this B&B. We enjoyed the beautiful setting, great conversation, and a delicious meal. Our hosts were very helpful and accommodating. We would happily stay at this location again.
