Great ocean view and convenient first floor rooms. Host is charming and accommodating. Rooms are small and dated. Breakfast was very good. Margaret collected for the B&B Ireland fee that we had already paid, but we did not make an issue.
Host's Reply: Dear Michael. Thank you for your feedback. Further to reading it, we contacted Maria in B&B Ireland and she confirmed that you had paid a deposit which I was unaware of and you didn’t make me aware of it before you left that morning. Maria will refund you the deposit on my behalf as she has your booking details. Apologise for this mix-up but had you told me it could have been rectified on departure.

Overall the stay was fine but when we arrived after the sun had set, it was a good thing we had a flashlight. There were no lights on for us and when I say it is dark, IT IS DARK. Upon arriving, Margaret said she was not expecting anyone. We showed her confirmation and of course she did not send us away, but still claimed she was not expecting us. We went to dinner and upon our return she did say, she did find our reservation and she had forgotten. Despite the rough start, the room are comfortable with heated mattress pads which helped on our chilly nights stay. The room was clean and as another review stated, you certainly feel like you are at your grandmothers house for the night. Common area is clean and tidy with an excellent view from the breakfast area. The options for breakfast were plentiful and the food/coffee was great. We helped clean up and take our dishes to the kitchen, which was very much less tidy and 'questionable'. We were sent on our way with a bag of scones which came in handy for snacking later on in the day during our travels on the road.
Host's Reply: Thank you for your feedback. Have you ever heard the saying “ messy kitchen is a well worked kitchen” and I love cooking and baking the scones for all my guests to enjoy and bring away with them as you did .

Hi
My wife & I spent 2 nights at Achill View Farm (12th to 14th of July 2024). Margaret is very kind and welcoming (one of her daughter too, the second daughter less) Achill View Farm is cozy and old style, (you feel like you're sleeping at your grandmother's house) it's easy and free to park but along the road. As Margaret is elderly, telephone communication is a little more difficult. We had to pay the balance in cash as it was not otherwise. and we didn't get a bill despite asking the host and B&B Ireland. Breakfast was very good (please note there are several choices) and Margaret even asked us to packed up some bread and cheese for us to take for our lunch. Perfect. The view is nice during breakfast (not from our room) We spent 15 nights into North Ireland roadtrip in July 2024. The price per night we payed at Achill View Farm was approximately 35% more expensive than the average one night spend for our accommodation. It's up to you to decide whether Margaret's kindness and her scones are worth the effort.

This was a very homely stopover, Margaret the owner welcomed us with tea & scones, the rooms were fine and the breakfast was perfect. Definitely one of the comfier places we stayed over a 2 week tour round Ireland. We were also sent on our way with a wee parcel of buttered homemade scones to keep us going on our travels.
Would have no hesitation in recommending this stopover to anyone.
