We arrived at the Ave Maria farmhouse after a long hike at Carrow Keel. The room was very spacious and welcoming. Mary directed us to the Beach Bar just a mile away on the Atlantic ocean. We had a fine meal there with great steak, lamb, and seafood. While we didn't take advantage of the milking tour, we did enjoy the parade of cows to the barn in the evening and back to the pasture at dawn. The breakfast was well cooked and served in a bright, welcoming breakfast room. We enjoyed our stay.

We looked forward to staying at Ave Maria BnB. The vicinity worked for our plans. However, due to a family obligation by the hosts, there was no one at the BnB until after 5:15. Check in was 3-6pm. Our host said she sent an email, but we received none. We also left 5 phone messages left unanswered. We were very concerned about lodging for the night. Because of the rural location, we didn’t have alternate lodging. Relatives finally reached the host and confirmed that she was finally at the BnB. We arrived 7:30 that evening. We were guided to our room, that was unheated. The boiler wasn’t working. We dropped our bags, and then we’re served a lovely tea and port cake in the common room. Our breakfast was a full Irish and it was delicious. We feel a note on the front door about the check-in situation would have solved this misunderstanding.

After a hard day's work and a long drive the warm welcome and cup of tea and fruitcake was greatly appreciated. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was great. I was on business so the fast internet connection was a real bonus. The nearby Beach Bar is a nice spot for lunch or an evening meal in a pleasant location. Ave Maria Farmhouse is very well signposted from the main road but Googlemaps insisted on trying to take me a couple of miles away, which caused me some confusion. I've since done a follow-up search and Googlemaps seems to have Ave Maria in the wrong location. Well worth a visit.

This b@b was wonderful. We were warmly greeted by daughter Jackie. Our room was very nice and comfortable. We had the privilege of getting a barn tour to see the 700 hundred cows being milked on a carousel holding 70 cows at a time. Padriag Jr. was very kind and informative about the farming business. Padraig Sr. was most hospitable giving us a visit later in the evening. Mary is a most gracious hostess. The food was amazing. Thank you to everyone we met for your kind generosity and welcoming into your lovely home. Blessings from Canada!!
