Our room was comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. What prevents a higher rating was the smell, I'm afraid. On approaching the door we heard the barking of four? five? little dogs. "Oh no!" we thought...and we love dogs but that many requires real diligence to keep the smell at bay. At that point, had we not been pre-booked, we would have moved on. But in we went and our expectations were realized. The property smelled strongly of dog. That was unpleasant. So be warned.

Wow! What an amazing place to stay in Ballycastle! The breakfast was phenomenal each day, and we were within walking distance to so many great restaurants in town. We wanted to eat dinner at home one night, and we were able to use the dining room and dinnerware. Clarewood is a great place from which to explore the beautiful coast of County Antrim.

Bernie, our host was awesome! She gave lots of tips and even drew us a map with a suggested route back to Dublin which took us on an amazing coastal drive! Our room was clean and breakfast was delicious.

We had such a nice time here. The bed was comfy and everything was so good! We opted out of the big breakfast only because we had breakfast overload by the time we stayed here. But what we did have was great! We had some issues finding the place and ended up coming late, but Bernie was so nice about it, which made you feel even more comfortable to stay there! Loved it and would definitely go back! Missing Ireland already!

We were two Canadian couples enjoying a motorcar sightseeing trip around Northern Ireland. Bernie and Bob are exceptional hosts, providing timely and pertinent information about interesting destinations in the countryside. And the four little dogs are a joy! The full Irish breakfast was delicious, although the expired "best before" date on the yogurt and moldy bread were disappointing. Perhaps an end-of-season thing? All in all, we would definitely recommend!
