Bernie was very welcoming and efficient when we arrived, making sure we had everything we needed. The room was very cute and clean! She gave us an idea of what to do in town and where to go for dinner. She is also willing to call ahead a book a reservation for you if needed and even give you a ride.

Our host Bernadette was very warm and welcoming and we enjoyed our stay. We left our coats in the room and had to return later that evening to pick them up and they were very accomodating. The food was very good. We ended up eating breakfast at the same table as two couples from France and they weren't very friendly but it is not a reflection on the B&B.

We booked into Clarehouse for our last night in Ireland and we are so grateful we did! After 10 days in Ireland at lots of B & B's that were all very good this one wins it all for me. Bernie was the reason for that. She was extremely welcoming and efficient upon arrival, super laid back and genuine. She drove us into town herself so we could have a few drinks and while sitting in her cozy kitchen making us breakfast she absolutely insisted that we take the coast road back to Belfast instead of the more efficient motorway. I hope she sees this review so she knows that OMG! We did do it and it was amazing! Thanks for everything Bernie! We would love to stay again.

Our room was comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. What prevents a higher rating was the smell, I'm afraid. On approaching the door we heard the barking of four? five? little dogs. "Oh no!" we thought...and we love dogs but that many requires real diligence to keep the smell at bay. At that point, had we not been pre-booked, we would have moved on. But in we went and our expectations were realized. The property smelled strongly of dog. That was unpleasant. So be warned.

Host's Reply:
So sorry you smelt like this, but I work very hard at keeping my house spotless and free from any dog odour, therefore my apologies. On the other hand , you left the toilet in a mess. Toilet brush is provided for your use.

Wow! What an amazing place to stay in Ballycastle! The breakfast was phenomenal each day, and we were within walking distance to so many great restaurants in town. We wanted to eat dinner at home one night, and we were able to use the dining room and dinnerware. Clarewood is a great place from which to explore the beautiful coast of County Antrim.
