Meet your host…

Diane Whyte

Gordon and I have been welcoming guests to Edenvale Country House for the past 26 years and enjoyed every minute of it. We have met amazing people from all over the world and have made many great friends. Gordon enjoys helping guests plan their itineraries and I love to garden and bake. A warm welcome awaits you at Edenvale Country House.

Beautifully restored Georgian country house, tastefully furnished with antiques, set in a secluded location well away from the main road, with stunning views over Strangford Lough to the Mourne Mountains and south County Down. The house is set among trees, surrounded by farmland and is close to Mount Stewart House and Gardens (5 mins) and also Belfast City centre (30 mins). Diane is very knowledgeable about the area and can recommend suitable local restaurants. Safe parking.

We had a large beautiful room with all the comforts of home. Diane and her husband were very helpful and gracious. The breakfast was wonderful. And a beautiful room out the window of the property and Strangford Lough.

Diane and her husband were very nice hosts, and their home was charming with a large beautiful room for us to stay in. After spending most of the trip in southern Ireland, it was interesting to see the more British touches subtly mixed into this Northern Ireland estate. Diane obviously took great pains to make sure the room had literally anything we could think of, even the little things - snacks, drinks, cotton balls, nail files, and the list goes on. Highly recommended.
