The thatched cottage b n b is a 19th century thatched cottage. The cottage has been in my family since it was built in 1861. I live here with my wife Caroline and our Labrador Harry. The best of traditional Irish hospitality can be found here and we will endeavor to make you feel right at home and nothing but the best is offered to guests who stay here. Nothing is too much trouble and if you need a hand with your itinerary plans then we are happy to help you. We look forward to welcoming you.

The Thatched Cottage offers bed and breakfast in the relaxed setting of Kilgill, County Galway. The home is a 19th century thatched cottage and has been in my family since it was built in 1861. A 25-minute drive from Galway City, this 19th-century cottage has a garden and terrace, and provides free Wi-Fi and parking. Your friendly hosts will welcome you with the finest of Irish hospitality and are on hand to offer advice and information on the surrounding area. The bedrooms are spotless and comfortable and a delicious breakfast is served each morning. Cash payments only. Credit and Debit cards are not accepted at this property. For group bookings of 6 or more pax, please contact the property directly to verify availability. Bookings for 6 or more pax must be cleared by the property prior to arrival.

A top tip to locate the BNB is to download the app WAZE and input the Eircode H91DK8W and it will bring you straight to the b n b, otherwise follow the below directions.

If you have not done so pls confirm your check in time, noting check is from 3.30-10pm unless an earlier time as been previously agreed.

Directions:

Travelling from Galway the easiest way and the way that I strongly suggest you follow to the b n b is to travel north on N83 to Claregalway. DO NOT TRAVEL ON THE MOTORWAY M17 as we are off the old road. From Claregalway continue north on to Lydons Knockdoe (do not turn left nor right off this road (GPS will attempt to turn u off) and you will reach Lydons Pub Knockdoe ~ 5km). From Knockdoe continue straight on N83 for 2km further taking the first left by CURRANDRUM national school, the house is just under 2km on the right.

Very lovely b&b. Great host, Great Breakfast. Fantastic location. The family Room we stayed in was big enough, tidy and well decorated. You need to like dogs.

Pleasant homey cottage. Clean and comfortable. Lovely “full Irish” breakfast. Nice host with good recommendations for food and exploring the area.

Cadre familial puisque les membres de leur famille participent et sont présents. Espace confortable et calme. Le lit de notre fille avait des ressorts en surface de matelas. Caroline était complaisante et souriante. Pour une intimité complète, il manquait une fermeture à clé de notre chambre.

Galway City: Taking a stroll around the cobbled streets of Galway City is a real treat. There is so much going on with lots of pubs, craft shops, cafés, street performers and buskers, you will not be disappointed.
Galway City Museum: The Museum is a spacious, modern building, situated in the heart of Galway city on the banks of the River Corrib and overlooking the famous Spanish Arch. It houses a variety of permanent and touring exhibitions representing Galway's rich archaeology, heritage and history.
