We loved staying at the Harbour House! Our host, Darren, was so friendly and gave us suggestions on things to do and see. The house was warm and inviting and the gardens designed by Darren were beautiful! We loved hearing about the history of the house and Shannon Harbour. Darren's breakfast parfaits were delicious! We had a great time at McIntyre's Pub visiting with Dermot and Shirley! The Harbour House and Shannon Harbour had to be our favorite stay/stop during our trip. We will definitely be back!

We stayed two nights at this quiet and charming location. The house has a great history along with this obscure yet important harbor. Walking the canal was soothing and a visual delight. Our hosts were very charming and engaging. They were happy to lend great advice on things to do and places to eat. The short walk to McIntyre's Pub was rewarding. It's a great family place with great food. The locals were warm and welcoming. We were lucky to be there on Friday night for the fresh fish fry. It was the best Fish & Chips of our whole 19 day adventure. Only wish we would have had more time to enjoy Darin's Garden in the spacious back yard. It is a wonderful environment to just be.

Staying here was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. The rooms were comfortable and charming, breakfast was delicious and extensive, and our hosts were welcoming, warm, and helpful. This location is superb for day trips throughout the midlands, but plenty to do within Shannon Harbour or a few minutes drive if you'd prefer to stay put and relax for a few days.
