Fernroyd House B&B

Fenroyd house is very well located to visit Cork City, situated in a quiet neighbourhood but close to the center. We enjoyed very much the confort of the room and the excellent "à la carte" breakfast. Tony and Avril are very welcoming and gave us useful advices.

[Traveler from the US, stayed June 16–18, 2026] This B&B was superior in every way. Hosts Tony and Avril have been in the biz long enough that they have truly thought of every detail needed to make guests comfortable, but never in a way that makes you feel like an intruder/interloper in their home. They live on the property, but they are exactly the kind of hosts who know how to be helpful without hovering, and they do not burden guests with a bunch of oppressive “house rules.” The variety of breakfast options, along with the quality and deliciousness of everything that came out of their kitchen, was a wonderful surprise. The massive en-suite room I stayed in was impressively sized and furnished for ANY place — US or Europe. The location of Fernroyd House is fantastic for everything you’d want to do in Cork City, as well as the beautiful surrounding seaside towns. Tony is an encyclopedic resource for things to do and the most logical way to do them. Anyone lucky enough to snag a reservation with Avril and Tony at Fernroyd House will not be disappointed. One thing to note for anyone who does not come from a culture where shoes are taken off immediately upon entering a home: this property has a street-shoes-off policy before going upstairs to the guest rooms. Be sure to bring a pair of socks or slippers that you have only ever worn indoors.

we two nights in Cork at Fernroyd House. The room was lovely, spacious and clean and the location walking distance from downtown Cork City. Tony and Avril were fabulous hosts and their breakfast were excellent. Communicating beforehand was easy.

We stayed two nights at Fernroyd House and it was a great stay. Tony and Avril were very helpful with suggestions for places to visit, restaurants nearby, and ordering a taxi at a difficult time to the train station. The room was quite comfortable and spacious and the bathroom had updated amenities. The daily breakfast was absolutely delicious and I was excited to get some of the fresh scones I had hear about from Avril! The location was excellent for easy day trips in the city. Will definitely stay here on any future trips. Excellent hosts, great location!

My wife and I stayed at Fernroyd House for 4 nights. Tony and Avril were excellent hosts. They shared their knowledge of Cork, giving us recommendations for restaurants and Irish music sessions. Breakfasts were freshly prepared and delicious. The location was within a short walk of restaurants and the centre of Cork.
