Ivy House

An exceptional experience. Hosts Veronica and James are very hospitable and made us feel right at home. Veronica was extremely kind, both in helping us personally and in suggesting itineraries that were a little off the beaten path. The house is beautiful and well-kept. The rooms are cozy, bright, clean, and fragrant. The kitchen is spacious with a large table that allowed our entire group to have breakfast together. The breakfast is delicious, with a selection of dishes cooked by the owners. Close to Galway but far from the hustle and bustle, perfect for exploring Connemara and the Cliffs of Moher. We had a wonderful time and wish we could have stayed longer. We thank Veronica and James for their hospitality, their kindness, their advice, and their welcome. We are leaving a constellation of stars as our review rating! Our hosts were very sweet & gracious- we thoroughly enjoyed time chatting with them, Mark fell in love with the dogs & I - with the horses! Veronica and James, we traveled Ireland for 3 weeks and your wonderful B&B was the best stay ever! It's not just about your beautiful home, which you generously shared with us and the spacious and cosy room (yellow, my favourite colour :) )... most of all it's the two of you, who make this stay so gorgeous! The cup of tea on arrival, the breakfast with you and your guests at your kitchen table, chatting and making friends with everyone, the very warm welcome when we came home after an adventurous day and your interest in how our day was. It truly felt like home and we were so sorry to leave... We will definitely come back! If anyone gets the chance to book the Ivy House - it's the best decision you can make! Besser hätte unser Irland-Kurzurlaub nicht starten können! Das Haus und der Garten sind sehr schön gestaltet und die Zimmer sauber. Durch die freundliche Art der Gastgeber fühlt man sich direkt wie zuhause. Veronica und James sind sehr hilfsbereit und aufmerksam. Auch ihre Hunde sind wundervoll. Besonders das Frühstück ist toll! Veronica and James, I thank you for the best time at a B+B I have ever had in Ireland. I have visited Ireland 6 times. I came to spend my 80th birthday on a 30-day visit. The only regret I have is I did not know of Ivy House before. I loved the talks and information of all things Irish you shared. I never had a B+B that prepared breakfast with us watching and conversing in your kitchen and dining area as you prepared a great meal. We loved that. What a beautiful and huge home you have. We so enjoyed time with your 2 St. Benard's that were so friendly and huggable, and your horses were beautiful. I can only feel sorry for anyone that doesn't get to stay at Ivy House and that we didn't have more time with you and your home. Love you all.
