Ivy House

A long tree-lined driveway and manicured gardens led us to Ivy House. Veronica and James were the perfect hosts. We were greeted enthusiastically by Veronica. This greeting was a perfect “Welcome to Ireland”! We were shown to our delightful room - the “Green Room” - and James carried our bags up the stairs (a bonus for weary travellers). The room was large, tastefully decorated and was supplied with a generous bathroom. The scenic view from the window included their horses! The linen on the beds and bathroom towels were luxurious. We were given clear instructions to the local village pub for dinner as well as extensive and accurate directions for exploring the local areas. Veronica also included her personal favourite places to explore with a few quirky locations - such fun! We were entertained in the evenings by stories and tales and felt that we quickly had made friends. Veronica’s breakfasts were delicious with generous servings. The interior decor of Ivy House was tasteful and beautiful with so much attention to detail. Ivy House is a beautiful home and BnB with exceptional hosts. We would love to stay again and highly recommend Ivy House.

Veronica and James were absolutely amazing hosts and the experience was exactly what we had hoped for.... and more! We were looking for a place where we could experience the Irish culture and charm and they exceeded our hopes. The place was beautiful, bedrooms large and welll furnished, included a great living room and the breakfasts were so delicious. I honestly don't think there's more they could have done to make it better. They even had the fires burning each morning and when we returned from long days in the rain and cold (And yes, this was May!) Veronica and James made us feel more than welcome. They sat with us each evening to talk about the area, various places to explore, and shared stories and jokes. Just a perfect Ireland B&B experience!

An exceptional experience. Hosts Veronica and James are very hospitable and made us feel right at home. Veronica was extremely kind, both in helping us personally and in suggesting itineraries that were a little off the beaten path. The house is beautiful and well-kept. The rooms are cozy, bright, clean, and fragrant. The kitchen is spacious with a large table that allowed our entire group to have breakfast together. The breakfast is delicious, with a selection of dishes cooked by the owners. Close to Galway but far from the hustle and bustle, perfect for exploring Connemara and the Cliffs of Moher. We had a wonderful time and wish we could have stayed longer. We thank Veronica and James for their hospitality, their kindness, their advice, and their welcome. We are leaving a constellation of stars as our review rating! Our hosts were very sweet & gracious- we thoroughly enjoyed time chatting with them, Mark fell in love with the dogs & I - with the horses!
