Nestled in the heart of Donegal, 1km from the town of Ballybofey, Dergfield House is the ideal touring base. Local area offers great golfing, fishing, trekking, shopping and nightly entertainment. Dergfield House is a family run Bed & Breakfast which boasts 4 ensuite rooms including 1 large family suite. All rooms have T.V. and Tea/Coffee making facilities. Set in private grounds we also offer a garden for visitors’ use and car parking facilities.

Directions from south …1^st house on left past the sign for Ballybofey at the 50km sign (N15)

Directions from north…..Continue along N15 approx 1km from Ballybofey town centre. Dergfield House is on the right just before 60km sign.

We stayed at Dergfield House for just one night, on the way through to Belfast. Miranda provided a wonderful friendly welcome into her family home-based B&B. Dining out : Ballybofey & Stranorlar are renowned for the quality and diversity of food available, whether it is local cuisine or Chinese, the choice is yours and await you at any of the 3 hotels or in the many cafes and restaurants in town.
Fishing : Fishing – Donegal is known for its excellent fishing, and Ballybofey in particular. We have the beautiful River Finn nearby and lots of angling associations to help getting you set up. For the more adventurous deep-sea fishing and other water activities are available in surrounding towns. Ask us for more information when you arrive.
Horse Riding : Horse riding – local riding schools offering pony trekking and lessons from beginner to more advanced rider. Mountain and cross-country terrain more locally with beech trekking available is surrounding towns.
Swimming: Swimming – The Finn Valley Centre is close by and offers a large swimming pool with Sauna, Steam Rooms and Fitness Centre. Visitors in the local area are welcome at the Centre during their open times and in line with their policies.
Walking: Walking – The Beautiful Drumboe Woods are nearby offering forest walks and road walks, with breath-taking scenery and the Old Drumboe Castle beside the woods.
