Maldon House

As we did not have phone service, we were not able to phone as the post on the door required. So we were not able to stay!

Our stay at The Maldon House exceeded all expectations. The home itself is warm, comfortable, and wonderfully inviting. Our hostess, Teresa Keowan, was both professional and genuinely welcoming—like being greeted by a favorite aunt. Her Irish breakfasts were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Teresa even went the extra mile by arranging dinner reservations for us at local restaurants, which was such a thoughtful touch. The location is ideal—set in the peaceful countryside just a few miles from Oranmore’s town center, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Galway is only about a 30-minute drive away, making it easy to spend the day exploring its many historic sites and hidden treasures. We especially loved visiting the nearby Ross Errilly Friary, a truly memorable experience. We highly recommend The Maldon House to anyone visiting the area—you won’t be disappointed!

We stayed two nights at Maldron House. Teresa was a lovely host, very personable, kind and funny. Her dog, Trixie (?), was a delight and very well behaved. Teresa had lots of suggestions for dining and places to visit. Parking right in front of the house, comfortable room with attached bathroom, tasty Irish breakfasts, interesting conversations, all made for a great experience.

Another place we were not able to use. This time it was due to overbooking by the property owner. The property did find us alternate accommodation in the general area. I was left with the impression that this is something that happens once in a while at this facility as the property owner indicated when she reached out that the place she was sending us to was an acquaintance and she has used them in the past. My complaint is that this whole situation was left until the day of arrival and we were left with little alternative but to agree to the switch or risk not having a place to stay for 2 nights

We had a great visit at Teresa's B&B; clean and easy to get to. Breakfast was amazing and she recommended a few spots in Oranbeg for dinner if we didn't want to stay in Galway too late. She was very personable and social. Highly recommend.
