B&B Recipe of the Week - Irish B&B Home Baked Chocolate Biscuit Cake
B&B Ireland are delighted to share our latest Bed and Breakfast recipe of the week - chocolate biscuit cake with a twist! The recipe was kindly provided by Jackie Browne of Rossmore Manor B&B in County Donegal. A favourite with both Jackie's children and her B&B guests, chocolate biscuit cake with an added twist is a really popular treat for all the family and guests. Jackie welcomes visitors to Rossmore Manor B&B with tea and home baking served in her lounge overlooking the spectacular views of Donegal Bay. The hospitality in Rossmore Manor B&B is wonderful and you will feel very welcome at this castle style B&B. When you have tried the chocolate biscuit cake, you will definitely be hooked!
Recipe
3oz Golden Syrup
7oz Dark Chocolate
50g Broken Biscuits
Knob of Butter
1 Egg
And the twist! - A handful of cherries, walnuts, fudge (whatever you fancy!)
Instructions
Melt the chocolate and golden syrup together. Add a knob of butter and one egg. Mix well. Pour the mixture over the broken buscuits.
Add some cherries, walnuts, crunchie bar pieces or fudge to the mixture - give it a twist with whatever extra ingredients you fancy!
Mix it all up well and pour into a lined loaf tin.
Press the mixture well into the tin to get rid of air pockets and leave to set in a cold place for a 4 hours.
Prepare a freshly brewed pot of tea, slice your chocolate biscuit cake and serve in a comfortable lounge with magnificent views, pure bliss and chocolate heaven!
