Kells – County Meath

The Abbey Of Kells is associated with Saint Colmcille and a famous illuminated manuscript called the Books of Kells, now kept at Trinity College Dublin. Kells is an hour drive from Dublin and a round tower and five large Celtic crosses can still be viewed there.

Glendalough – County Wicklow

The monastic city of Glendalough dates from the 7th century and is located amidst breathtaking mountain scenery and natural oak woodlands. Glendalough has been a place of Christian meditation and learning for over 1500 years and is associated with St Kevin. The 30 metre high round tower and medieval gateway are a priceless part of Irelands sacred heritage
