Discover Irish Cuisine this Summer
This summer why not discover the delights of Irish cuisine with a visit to one of the many food festivals on throughout the country. From seafood to savoury dishes there is something for everyone! Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store this Summer.
Ireland’s Food Festivals
A Taste of Donegal
Set on the beautifully refurbished pier in Donegal town, A Taste of Donegal is a must for food lovers. The festival runs from 22nd – 24th August and has really established itself to be one of the main attractions in the North West with cookery demonstrations and cocktail masterclasses throughout the weekend. There’s always a big turnout of food exhibitions to satisfy your taste buds so make sure to venture up to the hills of Donegal.
Galway International Oyster Festival
The world’s longest running oyster festival returns to Galway City from 25th – 28th September. Huge crowds flock to the city each year to get a taste of the unique Galway oysters and we cant imagine it to be any different this year! The festival will host the World Oyster Opening Championships and a Gala Mardi Gras which takes to the streets of Galway. Three venues, 5 bands and 1 big party. Galway sure knows how to put on a party so expect big things this year!
Kenmare Food Carnival
A food festival with a carnival theme? now that sounds fun! Kenmare brought the idea of a food carnival to fruition in 2012 and have gone from strength to strength. The three day event held from 12th – 14th July celebrates food in a fun carnival atmosphere with parades, taste trails, farmers markets and music. Make sure to get down to County Kerry for this delicious celebration.
If you’re looking for the full Irish cuisine experience there’s no better place to stay than in one of the many approved bed and breakfasts in Ireland. Wake up to a wholesome full Irish breakfast and get the best touring advice from your B&B host.
