World’s Largest Juggling and Circus Festival comes to Cork this July!

The annual European Juggling Convention (EJC) is the worlds largest festival of juggling, spinning and aerial acrobatics, hosting a wide array of activities in circus arts. It runs from the 19th to the 27th July in Millstreet, Co. Cork. Events such as juggling and circus arts workshops, skill-sharing and games are happening all week within the festival area as well as a series of public outreach events.

Youth programs targeted at different age groups run everyday from 9am to 1pm in the GAA hall. There are classes for parents and toddlers (6 months to 3 years). There are one-hour events of family circus for full families of any age. There are additional programmes for fun and circus games every day. Youth groups, sports groups or any group can request dedicated workshops in circus arts for 1-3 hours in the afternoons.

Free Street Circus and Theatre Shows

Free street circus and theatre shows are ongoing throughout Millstreet village all week, including some of the worlds best circus talent.

Saturday the 26th sees the keystone event - The Gala Show hosted on the main stage with performances from the worlds most talented and respected circus and juggling artists. Tickets are available at the Green Glen arena box office from 22nd July. There are entertaining events and activities throughout the week almost all of the time. Check out our website for the full schedule as it develops.

To close the event, a large parade preliminary scheduled for Saturday the 26th, will encircle the village. The parade is a ‘thank you’ to the Cork community for hosting us in Millstreet for the week and is typically greeted with great enthusiasm and joy. The parade will end in a local park area, outside of the ticket-controlled festival where the ‘Juggling Olympics’ begins, the circus-skill games which mark one of the final events of the week long festival.

Activities and events are ongoing all week. Week-long and day tickets are available. See the schedule as it develops at www.ejc2014.org.
