Bed and Breakfasts in Ireland
Bed and Breakfasts in Ireland are run by Irish families who enjoy welcoming guests into their homes. Staying in a B&B in Ireland is a unique experience and one that will add a special touch to your Irish holiday experience. Although they are referred to as a ‘Bed and Breakfast’, there is so much more to staying in an Irish B&B.
What to expect
When you arrive at a Bed and Breakfast home in Ireland, you will be greeted by the host, or hosts, who will warmly welcome you into their home. Irish homes have a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and hosts will endeavour to welcome you as part of the family from the moment you arrive. You will be served refreshments on arrival, typically home-baked scones, brown bread or cake with tea/coffee. Your bedroom will have an ensuite bathroom and your room will be designed with comfort in mind. The sitting room of the B&B is the perfect place to sit, read or chat with fellow guests. Your hosts will be happy to offer advice on restaurants, pubs and places of interest in the area. B&Bs in Ireland are situated in perfect locations, close to the must-see attractions. Most of the time you will probably be within walking distance of the local restaurant or pub, but if not, some hosts are happy to drop you there! Traditional Irish pubs are the perfect way to spend an evening where you can enjoy great trad music sessions and a chat with the friendly locals.
B&B Breakfast
Comfort and relaxation is what staying in a B&B is all about. Bed and breakfast accommodation offers that home from home experience. After a restful night's sleep, you can look forward to a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast! B&Bs offer a varied breakfast menu with, of course, the ‘Traditional Full Irish’ breakfast as their speciality. Breakfast is served in the dining room or kitchen of the home, which again, is designed with your comfort in mind. Hosts tend to do the cooking and serving at breakfast time themselves, so the atmosphere is relaxed and informal. They have years of experience in looking after guests and use only the finest of produce to ensure a delicous breakfast experience.

I’m in Rossroe Lodge in Cashel, a tiny hamlet located in the vast expanse of Connemara. I arrived yesterday and was greeted warmly by my hosts, who showed me to a beautiful room at the front of the house, facing the sea.
