Cathy and Jeff’s Vacation to Ireland

Two months ago, Jeff and I were the fortunate winners of a two-night stay at any bed and breakfast of choice through B&B Ireland. We chose Griffith House in Drumcondra, and added on four nights of our own costs. Having never been to Ireland, or stayed in a B&B, we did not know what to expect. I must tell you that it was absolutely the best experience ever! The neighborhood was about 15 minutes bus ride from downtown Dublin, right on the bus line. The house was immaculate, beautifully decorated and very user friendly. We especially appreciated the strong internet that we used every night.
B&B Host
The owner Eugene and the others made us feel very comfortable and welcome. I really appreciated the time he took to explain the bus system to us (we have never used a bus system and had no idea), and called us very reliable taxis when the bus system was not available. The breakfast was delicious and satisfying. Really I cannot say enough about Griffith House and I am grateful for the experience. I plan to return to Ireland in the next year and bring my friends, and Griffith House is at the top of my list.
Irish Hospitality
We found the Irish people so friendly and helpful everywhere we went. For instance, just chatting with local people in Cork, they told us how much they loved their city. Then they told us about local festivals and events and invited us to attend. Then on the other side of the country, in Belfast, we spoke with people who briefly explained the history of the area and gave us tips on where to eat. When we were lost in Dublin, we had people approach us and offer to help. Truly everywhere in this beautiful country, the people were as warm and helpful as this. I've traveled over much of Europe and America, and I have to say that Ireland is at the top of my list as amazing travel destinations.
Also I felt less like a "tourist" and more of a "traveler" (if that makes sense!) by staying at the bed and breakfast. I literally lived with Irish people and saw their style of living and how they interacted. I feel very blessed for the experience and grateful to have gone to Ireland. My husband and I have brought back not only photos but memories, and we are sharing them with everyone in our lives. It was truly a magical trip and I cannot believe how much we learned about Ireland's history, culture, music and food.
