Meet Your Host - Christina O'Neill
This week's Meet Your Host interview comes all the way from the Kingdom that is County Kerry. We caught up with Christina and Patrick O'Neill, B&B hosts at Iveragh Heights, a family run B&B which has been in business for the last 25 years. Iveragh Heights is located just outside the welcoming town of Cahersiveen along the popular Ring of Kerry. Find out everything there is to know about Christina and her home below in this week's Meet your Host Interview.
What are the hidden gems close to your home?
I would have to say Cnoc na dTobar or 'Mountain of the Wells' in english. It's an ancient pilgrim trail around 8km in length and is on one of the main mountains of the Iveragh Peninsula. Ballycarbery is another hidden gem that is in walking distance of our home. Whitestrand Beach is a must when visiting us. We are only 2km from this beautiful long sandy beach.
What is your signature dish/food?
My signature dish is definitely the traditional bacon and cabbage!
Is there anything about your home that is quirky?
Our home is nestled on a natural hillsight with a fabulous rockery garden.
Have you ever had any famous guests?
Not to my knowledge but all our guests are special in their own way.
What is your favourite thing about the area you live in?
My favourite thing about living in Cahersiveen would have to be the quiet tranquil area free from air and noise pollution.
When you are not looking after your guests what is your favourite thing to do?
When I have free time I love going to the local football games. Kerry is known for its fantastic football teams!
What are your top three attractions in this country?
-
The Skellig Rocks
-
Cnoc na dTobar Mountain
-
The Wild Atlantic Way
We would like to thank Christina and Patrick for taking the time to share with us an insight into their home. If you would like to find out more about Christina and Patrick's B&B make sure to check out Iveragh Heights Bed and Breakfast.
