Irish Hospitality at its best along the Irish Coastline

Beginning his trip from Dublin, Christian travelled clockwise along the rugged coastline spending much of his time exploring the famous Wild Atlantic Way. Christian then ventured towards the Northern part of the country taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Causeway Coastal Route. Christian spent 28 days cycling along Ireland’s most scenic coastline, enjoying some of the most beautiful sites he had ever seen. The total length of his route was 2200 km, a truly inspirational journey cycling over 80km per day.

As well as the breathtaking views to be seen along the Irish Coastline, Christian explained that he experienced the kindest people he has ever met. He booked his accommodation via B&B Ireland and enjoyed traditional Irish Hospitality staying in B&B homes across the country.

Each morning after a delicious Irish Breakfast, Christian took pleasure in discussing his daily route with the B&B host; they kindly gave him tips on the hidden gems he could explore on his path. To cherish the memory of these insightful interactions Christian took a picture of the B&B Host every morning before setting off on his adventure.

Here at B&B Ireland we caught up with Christian to find out more about his journey and experience of travelling around Ireland.

What was your favourite part of Ireland?

My favourite part of Ireland is the Dingle Peninsula – Dingle is a charmingly quaint area that has lots to do and see.   It was terribly windy to get out there, but it was a great Wild Atlantic Way adventure.

I have to say though the most surprising part was the Copper Coast in County Waterford. I didn't expect such an astonishing coastline in the southeast of the country.

What is your advice for others travelling to the Ireland?

• You will meet many, many wonderful people along the road. Talk to them. Trust them. You will never get lost in Ireland.
• If you are cycling around the whole island, do it clockwise. So you are next to the sea (if not, you are still driving on the right ;-).
• When the daily trip is done: Try cider. It's more refreshing than beer.

What did you like the most about staying in a B&B?

What I really liked about staying in Irish B&Bs was the warm welcome of the hosts, the tea making facilities in the room and the huge full Irish breakfasts. I also loved the fact that I was interacting with the real people of Ireland.
