Thousand's Turn Out in Green for St. Patrick's Day Celebrations
The world turned an emerald green yesterday as the St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations went global. Streets were occupied with tri-colours and Irish songs were sung from New York to Sydney. In Ireland, people lined the streets to attend parades throughout the country while an estimated half a million turned out for the famous Dublin parade.
‘Celebrate Now’ the theme for the Dublin City Parade was brought to life by bands from USA, Mexico, Germany and Ireland along with thrilling performances and theatrics.
While the Dublin City Parade celebrates Irish culture throughout the world, hundreds of parades outside the city focus on the local community. Towns and villages from North to South come out in force and band together to celebrate and showcase local businesses and community groups. These town and village parades are a fantastic celebration of everything Irish.
B&B Ireland were especially proud to be apart of the Donegal town parade on behalf of local students of the Glebe National School who won best overall float in the parade under the theme ‘Wild Atlantic Way – Donegal’. Local B&B owner Geoffrey Browne of Rossmore Manor B&B was very proud and thankful to the Glebe School Parent’s Association and to all the children who participated.
