Celebrating 30 years in business Arch House B&B

This year Rosemary Armstrong and her husband celebrate 30 years of welcoming guests into their home. Arch House B&B is a beautiful farmhouse located in the countryside near Enniskillen in County Fermanagh.

B&B Ireland caught up with Rosemary this week to find out more about her B&B:

How did you get into the B&B business?

I went to catering college for 3 years and had lots of catering jobs both here in Ireland and Canada. When I got married and had my 3 children I couldn't wait to get back to a job because I missed meeting people, but I did not want to leave my children. The Marble Arch Caves had just opened the year previous and I thought it would be a good idea to start a B&B, this way I can meet people and look after my children at the same time. I have never looked back and I also have a 'Taste of Ulster' restaurant which is much appreciated by the guests.

What do you like the most about running a B&B?

I love meeting people from all over the world and helping them have a good time by telling them what there is to see and do in Co Fermanagh.

What is your favourite job in the B&B?

I love cooking and providing good quality local food to my guests and seeing them enjoy it. The most used review I get is:

'It is so nice to get a good variety of home grown food cooked for us'.

What should guests expect when they stay with you?

A warm welcome and to become part of the family, if so desired. 4 **** quality accommodation in the heart of Fermanagh Lakelands beside Florencecourt House National Trust Property , the Marble Arch Caves Geo Park and Belleek Pottery.
