Dublin – The Perfect City Break

If you are looking for a city break that offers something a little bit different, then look no further than Dublin. This medieval city, which is steeped in history, has everything you need for the perfect holiday!

What is so wonderful about Dublin City is that it is so compact, which means all the local attractions and amenities are in close proximity to each other. The best way to experience the charm and ambiance of this cosmopolitan city is by foot.

Attractions

On a Dublin City Break visit Trinity College and stay in a Dublin B&BThere is a great buzz around this interesting city with plenty of visitor attractions to keep you occupied all day long. Must see sights include the Book of Kells at Trinity College, Guinness Brewery and Kilmainham Gael, which happens to be the largest unoccupied prison in Europe. No trip to Dublin would be complete without a visit to the fine museums and art galleries that make Dublin such a sophisticated capital. Dublin Castle is not to be missed either, as it has been at the heart of the history and evolution of the city since 1204, the grounds and museum are free to explore, but if you want to access to the State Apartments you can do so by arranging a guided tour.

Great Atmosphere

On a Dublin City break visit the Gaiety Theatre and stay in a Dublin b and bEating out is a delightful experience with an abundance of great cafes, gastro pubs and first-class restaurants. In the evening take a trip to the world famous Abbey or Gaiety Theatre and watch a celebrated play or music show.  You are guaranteed a night to remember. But don’t leave Dublin until you have visited a traditional pub, with its great atmosphere and a chance to meet the local characters.

Grafton Street

Visit the Ha'penny Bridge on a Dublin City break and stay in a Dublin b&bEnjoy a walk along the River Liffey and stroll over the Ha’penny Bridge.  Made of cast iron, it is Dublin’s most famous bridge. Visit Grafton Street for a bit of retail therapy, it is one of the main shopping streets in Dublin with lots happening including street entertainers, making it a really fun place to visit for a few hours. Make sure to have your picture taken with the statue of Molly Malone and her wheel barrow at the end of the street.

Dublin Coast-line

Dublin’s coast-line is popular for outdoor watersports including sailing and has several marinas in the location that caters for visiting boats. The capital is also home to some of Ireland’s finest golf courses including Portmarnock championship course. If your passion is rugby, soccer, horse or grey hound racing then Dublin has it covered.

So, if you are looking for that city break with a difference, look no further than Dublin, it truly has something for everyone. Visit once and you’ll be back!
