Glasha Farmhouse, a unique B&B experience

Host, Olive of Glasha Farmhouse in Waterford. A unique B&B experience
It is not at all surprising that Glasha Farmhouse is a multi award-winning bed and breakfast! I don’t think that host, Olive, could do any more to ensure that her guests have a unique B&B experience. Nestled in the Nire Valley in County Waterford, this 5-star haven recently made it on to the esteemed McKenna’s list of ‘Best places to stay in Ireland’!

So why is Glasha Farmhouse such a unique bed and breakfast experience? Well, in Olive’s own words, here are just a few reasons why…

I had a lovely couple from Scotland staying with me recently.  It was their first time in Ireland, so everything was new to them.  I had gotten an email from their only daughter early on in the week, asking me to buy some flowers and chocolates for them. So after they settled into their room, I presented them with those items and I also upgraded them to one of our luxurious rooms which contain a Jacuzzi bath.

The Next Morning

Homemade breads from Glasha Farmhouse in County WaterfordThe next morning, they enjoyed a lovely breakfast which consisted of freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh fruit, accompanied with homemade muesli and natural yogurt. Following this, one had a traditional Irish breakfast and the other had scrambled eggs, bacon and tomato, with toasted homemade brown soda bread. They were very impressed with my courgette and walnut bread. After breakfast, I made out an itinerary for them and made suggestions on where to go and what to see.

Off to Mary Black

They joined me and some of my friends at the show and they had a great time. The following morning, I couldn’t believe it, when they presented me with a big bouquet of roses as a ‘thank you’ for making their weekend so great.

True Irish Hospitality

Guest can look forward to home baked treats on arrival at Glasha FarmhouseI am now expecting more guests and I have taken some lovely hot blueberry scones from the oven for them to enjoy with a cup of tea when they arrive. I also have some apple tart and cream, if they prefer. I’ll make time for a chat and if they so wish, I will plan out another itinerary for them. It’s the little extra touches that provide a special and unique B&B experience, and if my guests have this, then my job is done. I get immense pleasure in looking after guests and providing them with this and true Irish hospitality.
